Our meeting spot is Ukumehame, a beautiful stretch of beach on Maui's southwest side, off Hi-30 between mile markers 12 and 12.5. We’ll be parked in the sand 100 yards west of the paved Ukumehame Park parking lot. Text us after you book for a pin to our parking spot and pic of our car.

Three Lessons, One New Lifelong Surfer! 🌊🏄♂️ - We had an amazing experience with Brian and his team in Maui! I originally signed up for two semi-private surf lessons with my 10-year-old over the course of our trip, and after seeing how much my son loved it, we added a third private lesson just for him. Three lessons over five days, and he would have happily done more!
From the very first lesson, our son was hooked. He had so much fun, gained confidence, and apparently became the crew’s little “mascot,” which made the experience even more special. By the end of the trip, he had officially decided that every vacation from now on needs to be a surf vacation!
Brian and his staff are truly top notch—professional, encouraging, patient, and incredibly fun to be around. They made our son feel comfortable while still challenging him and celebrating every bit of progress. And the photos were AMAZING! Having those incredible shots of him out in the water is something we’ll treasure for years.
If you’re considering a surf lesson in Maui, look no further. We couldn’t recommend Brian and his team more highly. They made our trip unforgettable—and may have created a lifelong surfer in the process! 🌊🏄♂️🤙

Top tier surf school for all skill levels! - We had an incredible experience surfing with Brian this summer! He coached me and my 10-year-old across multiple sessions, perfectly balancing high-level instruction with a fun, encouraging vibe. Brian is patient, observant, and gives pinpoint, real-time tips out in the water that accelerated our progression fast. He genuinely cared about our growth and celebrated every great wave with us.
To top it off, the photos he took of us in the water turned out amazing—great for analyzing our form, showing off the wave sizes, and keeping lifelong memories. If you're looking for a top-tier coach for yourself or your kids, Brian is the best!

Our favorite thing we did on our trip! - This experience with Soul Surfing Maui (Brian and Shaun specifically) will be a core memory for my husband and I. We were made feel like family from the moment we booked - getting a text from Brian almost immediately to let us know all the details and what to expect. When we arrived, we were comfortable and confident given Shaun’s expertise and knowledge! We paid for the photos (do NOT skip this, trust me!!) so Brian was already out in the water waiting for us. Shaun and Brian both gave such great feedback the whole lesson, truly wanting us to have the best experience. We caught several waves and felt super confident and accomplished by the end. We can’t thank Brian and Shaun enough for the amazing time and can’t wait to work with them again when we return! Mahalo to you both!

10/10 - My two boys ages 14 and 17 had a blast with their lesson! They were up surfing on their first try. Highly recommend, Brian was informative and communicative ahead of the lesson. We received photos that we will cherish forever. Thanks again guys!!

Memorable experience for our kids! - This was the first time surfing experience for our kids(17 and12) and they both loved their lesson with Brian. He was patient and encouraging . When initially surfing conditions were not ideal, Brian still met with us and waited for the winds to abate. We had to reschedule but he worked with us on timings !

Great experience! - We booked our teenage sons for a semi private lesson with Brian and Sean during our family vacation and they had a blast!! They were so excited the first thing they said when they were done is “can we come back again tomorrow?!” Highly recommend! Biggest regret is not also purchasing pictures. They were way further out than I anticipated to take anything clear myself.

Epic Maui surf lessons - During our recent stay in Maui, we booked beginning surf lessons for our 11 and 17 year old daughters. Their instructor Brian was very professional, prompt, gave clear directions and patient instruction. Ukumehame beach was beautiful and the girls had an epic experience! Both were up, balanced and riding manageable waves, all within a first experience lesson! We could hardly belief how fast and well they took to it. Soulsurfingmaui.com and Brian were the highlight of our Maui experience!!
