• Hana Highway - Road to Hana - Stretching 64.4 miles (103.6 km), the Hana Highway is the world’s longest coastal scenic route. Beyond Kalepa Bridge, it extends to Kipahulu as Hawaii Route 31 (the Piilani Highway). This journey includes 59 single-lane bridges and over 640 turns through lush tropical rainforest. Most of the concrete and steel bridges date back to 1910.

• Paia - Just four miles into the drive to Hāna from Kahului, travelers will find the historic town of Pāʻia on Maui’s north coast. Divided into Lower Pāʻia and Pāʻia, this welcoming community was once a thriving plantation town during Maui’s sugar cane industry boom. Today, Pāʻia boasts colorful, rustic storefronts filled with local art galleries, unique shopping boutiques, and restaurants.

• Ho’okipa Beach Park - An ideal spot for a light breakfast while watching local surfers and wild turtles, and capturing photos of the famous Northshore coastline. Restrooms are available.

• Twin Falls Maui - Twin Falls is the first easily accessible series of waterfalls and pools on the Road to Hana.

• Haipua’ena Falls - Haipua’ena Falls is a small waterfall and pool along Maui’s popular Road to Hana. Due to the unsigned trail and short hike over a sometimes muddy path, the pool sees less visitor traffic than the well-marked falls along the route.

• Ke‘anae Point - Small Hawaiian villages strive to live like the Hawaiians of old, with pig hunting and growing taro, breadfruit, and bananas being integral to daily life. It’s also home to the famous Half Way to Hana Snack stand, offering shave ice, fresh coconut, cold drinks, and the Original Fresh Baked Banana Bread. The Keanae overlook and peninsula provide views of one of Hawaii’s largest taro farms.

• Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread - In 1983, Aunty Sandy Hueu began baking her renowned banana bread in Keʻanae, Maui. In 2003, her daughter Tammy joined the business, creating an authentic family-owned and operated food stand on the Keʻanae peninsula. Since then, Aunty Sandy’s has become a must-visit destination for hot, freshly baked banana bread.

• Ching’s Pond - A very photogenic spot for capturing daring photographs.

• Upper Waikani Falls - Often called Three Bears, Upper Waikani Falls features three separate but parallel falls of varying lengths, with the third and smallest being the “baby bear” falls on the right.

• Wailua Falls - Wailua Falls is a picturesque and easily accessible waterfall visible from The Hana Highway. There’s no need to leave the car to enjoy the view!

• Hana Lava Tubes - Lava tubes form when massive flows cool on the surface, creating an insulating conduit for the lava beneath. During the formation of Maui’s volcanic landscape, these acted like the volcano’s veins, channeling lava for miles underground before depositing it as new landmass, often into the ocean. After a volcano becomes dormant, these tubes typically begin to collapse and vanish under natural forces. Since much of Maui’s surface formed long ago, few significant lava tubes remain; Ka’eleku Cave is the largest known accessible lava tube on Maui.

• Hana Bay - Hana Bay houses Hana Beach Park, featuring a long black-sand beach and the safest swimming area along the East Maui coast. The bay is protected by a coral reef and shielded from large swells by its curved shape.

• Wai’anapanapa State Park - Wainapanapa is Maui’s renowned Black Sand Beach with freshwater caves. The cobalt blue ocean is surrounded by black sand and black lava rocks from a flow just 10,000 years ago. Visitors can walk along the bay’s edge to admire the blue water or relax under a shade tree. This location is perfect for an hour of relaxation, enjoying one of the island’s most beautiful spots. A picnic-style lunch is served in this lovely area. Swim at your own discretion. Restrooms are available.

• Pua’a Ka’a State Park - Pua’a Ka’a Falls (rolling pig) is located in the Pua’a Ka’a State Wayside Park, making it one of the rare waterfalls on the Hana Highway. Swim at your own discretion and risk in the freshwater pools. Restrooms are available.

• Upper Waikani Falls - Situated just beyond Mile Marker 19 on the mauka—or mountain side—of Hana Highway, Upper Waikani Falls is often referred to as Three Bears, thanks to the three separate but parallel falls of differing lengths—with the third and smallest being the “baby bear” falls on the right.

• Wailua Valley State Wayside Park - Wailua Valley is an ahupuaʼa located just after the Keanae peninsula on the road to Hana. Though small, the area is rich in Hawaiian culture, with an abundance of rare culturally significant fish and plant life. The area contains many ancient taro, or kalo, patches, some of which are still in operation. In Hawaiian legend, taro is considered the older brother of all Hawaiians, and “Mahiʼaiʼana,” or cultivation of the land, is a deeply ingrained principle that has endured for the people of Wailuanui.

• Keanae Lookout - The stunning view from this lookout point offers a glimpse into what ancient Hawaii might have looked and felt like. It truly feels like a step back in time to untouched Maui.

• Honomanu - Just beyond Kaumahina State Wayside Park, there’s a pullout offering a good view of Honomanu Bay.

From this vantage point, visitors can get another good look at the Ke’anae Peninsula. The views from Kaumahina Wayside Park are superior to this pullout, so if possible, be sure to stop at the Wayside Park instead.

• Kaumahina State Wayside Park - Offers beautiful views of the Keanae Peninsula, with restrooms available.
• Eucalyptus Rainbow Trees - The unique rainbow tree displays bright shades of green, blue, purple, orange, and maroon as its bark sheds throughout the year. Hawaii is home to many of these stunning trees, which can grow to an impressive height of 200 feet! Many consider the rainbow eucalyptus the most beautiful tree on earth.

Due to federal and state safety regulations, we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs, walkers, or similar mobility devices on board, as our vehicle is not ADA-compliant and such items may pose safety hazards during travel. Canes are permitted, but walking sticks are not allowed. There is a low step to board the van, and all guests must be able to get on and off the vehicle independently, without assistance from the driver. Most Road to Hana tours operated legally have similar restrictions, as ADA-compliant vans are wider and subject to different regulations.
