Delicious and Interesting! - Our family totally enjoyed the Maui Pineapple tour. It was a treat going into the field to see pineapples growing and then eating fresh pineapple right in the field. Our guide was fun and knowledgeable. The dinner after the tour was also wonderful!

What a fun experience! - We had a great time on this tour! Our tour guide was excellent. Rudy told us the history of growing pineapples on Maui. He explained the very complex process of how they are grown in a way that was easy to understand. He told us how to pick a good one in the grocery store, and how to cut them. He then let us taste 3 different pineapples. He also took a picture of us (for free) and emailed it to us. We rode in a small bus and he used a microphone so it was easy to hear him no matter where you sat in bus. He was friendly, good humored, and willing to answer questions. There were beautiful views in all directions. We were given a free pineapple packed and ready for air transport. We then went to our dinner where there was a choice of 4 entrees. We thought the food was yummy and the presentation very elegant.

Great food - It’s a great place to eat after the tour of the pineapple factory. A simple walk across the parking lot.

What a Great Day! - This was a really fun day! Our tour was very informative. We learned a lot about growing pineapples, and we were even gifted pineapples to take home! We learned how to remove the hat of the pineapple and how to grow it at home. We live in Texas, but I’m going to give it a go anyway! The gift shop is so fun, so many things to look at and buy. Maui pineapples are the hands-down best pineapples we have ever had in our lives! We could not get enough, instead of taking our pineapples home we cut them up and ate them while we were still on our trip! Our only regret is that we did not have time to stop back by to buy more before we left! Dinner was next-door at a very cute restaurant. The food was good, the vegetarian – mushroom bao was absolutely delicious. My husband was not as big of a fan with the pork bao, but we both loved the mushrooms. I would definitely order that again. My husband had the green curry which he raved about. I had the mahi-mahi and it was very good. We would definitely dine there on our own again.

Maui Gold Pineapples - An informative tour of the pineapple crop. We had the pleasure of sampling the pineapple and getting a few recipes for the pineapples we all took home. After the tour we are an evening meal at the restraint which was delicious and of course the dessert was pineapple upside down cake. I will definitely tell my friends/family about this tour.

Amazing Tour - Amazing experience! Our tour guide was a part of this business for nearly 50 years doing everything from planting to owning the business. He had even been to Brazil’s pineapple farms and could explain the differences between the pineapples and markets. The pineapple was amazing, as was the dinner included after the tour. The service was excellent. Would definitely recommend!

Okay tour followed by subpar dining - underwhelming. - I have been on pineapple plantation tours in the past, in Costa Rica where I was leading university students. My wife had not, and so we considered the Maui tour as a potential fun option. At $95 each, felt a little steep. We are very much about good food, especially when locally sourced, so we considered doing the farm and feast combo tour. The description on the meal component was about being 'exquisite'. So we considered that this will be our 'big night out' on island. Total costs, including some pretty ridiculous booking fees, was $431.78 for the two of us. The tour was what I expected. Rudy the guide was knowledgeable as he has been in the business for almost a half century. You ride in a casino-type bus around the fields, make three stops to get out an look at the different stages of plant development, taste a couple fresh pineapple at the third stop, and some nice views of the island. An average quality tour. When the tour concluded, there is ~30 minutes before the feast starts. We entered the restaurant, let them know we had booked the farm and feast, and they took us into the back room...and sat us with three other couples from the tour at a round table. Group seating was not mentioned in the description - and we had little in common with the others, and one person was a bit dominating in the conversation. Exquisite not yet met. The menu is pretty fixed, an app, a salad, one of four mains, and one dessert, and non-alcoholic beverages. The app was their signature pork belly bao bun. The bun came out like a thick folded tortilla. The porkbelly was decent flavor but cool, not hot. The salad was three lettuce leaves, a few carrot shreds, and two cherry tomatoes sliced in half. Not even side salad sized. We tried the short ribs and crusted ahi ahi. Both were pretty cold when they arrived. Time between salad and entree about 15 minutes (filled with awkward conversation between four couples that didn't choose to sit together - made it feel like 30 minutes). The pineapple turnover cake dessert was pitiful. Grainy, tiny, pasty. Service was friendly, but sparse. If considering this tour option - to include the feast, lower your expectations. Replace in their description the word exquisite with mediocre. My wife was quite furious when we left. The way she put it, she would have preferred to got to a better restaurant and have me tell her all about how pineapple grow (or watch a youtube video). We would have spent $250 on really good food and some drinks and had $180 left over to get four other food-cart lunches on the trip, with a side of shave ice. (okay, one more note. Big selling point they give you for the tour is you walk away with your own pineapple to take home - even comes in a carry-on box. On the tour, Rudy explains that the best pineapples - good shape and size - go to their most valuable customers. The smaller, misshapen ones go to whole foods on the mainland. And the rest go to juice companies. What's in the box? small, misshapen pineapple. Guess you are not a valuable customer since they give you the lower quality fruit.)
