Exceeded Expectations - This was the second horseback riding venture my wife and I have taken with West Maui. Once again, West Maui exceeded expectations. This was especially due to our fabulous guides, Kai and Sierra (I hope I’m spelling that correctly). They were not only very knowledgeable of each individual horse, but also provided insight on the island of Maui, and had very pleasant personalities. Our horses, Junior and Avatar were also very easy to manage. And to top it all off, the base includes a number of lambs, deer, and piglets which added to an amazing day. We will be back. Horse riding along the coast - great experience - Great experience with Kai and Cierra as our guides! Small group size of less than 10 ensured personal and individual care at multiple points to check on the saddle and other details. While State laws prohibit riding on the water, we rode on a higher path along the coast. We did not go to any Waterfalls on this route.

Animal Lover Sanctuary - If you are an animal lover, then this is the experience for you. Not only is there an amazing trail for the horseback ride but the farm is also home to 30 ish cats, horses, deer, goats, sheep, peacocks, pigs, and etc. My boyfriend and I had an even better time than we could ever imagine.

Breathtaking, educational, exhilarating - Kai and Ciara were phenomenal, we had an amazing time with some wonderful people, incredible horses, and unbelievable views. We learned so much about the area, the wildlife, and the plants and fruit growing in the valley. So many other animals to interact with at the ranch, including some of the coolest cats on the island! The group size was perfect, and we felt we got so much individual attention and time to chat with the guides, which was one of the most enjoyable parts of the ride, and the views were spectacular. While we could have spent all day there, the ride time was probably just about perfect, and we never felt rushed along the trail of after we were finished, and stayed to interact with the animals and people afterwards. The guides ensured each rider was paired with a horse to match their experience level, and provided assistance for those new to riding or with physical limitations making mounting challenging. Drinks were provide (gotta stay hydrated in the saddle!), and honestly this would have been worth it at nearly twice the price. A true highlight of our time on Maui. Mahalo nui loa, aloha a hui hou!

Great experience! - We did a New Year’s Eve ride with our family and it was amazing. The horses were calm, well-trained, and easy to handle. The views were absolutely incredible. Our instructors, Kai and Sierra, were fantastic—very knowledgeable and made us feel safe and welcome the entire time. If you’re looking for something to do on Maui besides the beach, this is a must. We would 100% do this again!

The effort by the... - The effort by the horseback guides and check in staff was evident, they are sincere and engaged. The comment I want to make is this particular ride is largely not on flat terrain. The horses navigate steep slopes both up and down. The pace is quick. I have a lifetime of riding experience (owning and showing horses), and that experience gave me a lot of assurance on this ride. I know that if you give these seasoned horses their heads they can pick their way down steep inclines. I just do not know what this ride would feel like to a novice. It seemed only appropriate for intermediate and above riders to me. The views were nice, the trails were unbelievably dusty in places and there was no waterfall. The horses were well conditioned and well boned. The tack was in good condition.

Slow and Steady! - Really beautiful views- VERY long and slow- if you are looking for a stroll pace on a horse for a little over 2 hours this is for you! Tour guides were incredibly nice and views were gorgeous- if you're looking for fast paced this is not for you- we were looking for something a little more fast passed with the kids. We also didn't see any waterfalls

Horses - Maybe split up groups. Make smaller groups so you can hear the leaders talk. Also split up the skill level of riders. We waited a lot for riders to get back together.
