A New Adventure in Maui

As a seasoned surfer, I’ve spent countless hours riding the waves of Central America, but kiteboarding was a new frontier for me. The allure of Maui’s pristine beaches and the promise of a new challenge drew me in. I arrived at 720 Amala Pl, the starting point of my kiteboarding adventure, with a mix of excitement and curiosity. The sun was shining, the ocean was calling, and I was ready to dive into this new experience.

The day began with gear selection and a brief orientation on Kite Beach. Susie, the coordinator, had already matched me with Gonzo, my first instructor, who quickly assessed my surfing background and tailored the lesson to my level. We started with some ground school training, focusing on the unique aspects of kiteboarding in Maui. Gonzo’s insights into upwind-bar rigging and self-rescue techniques were invaluable, and I was eager to put them into practice.
