• Hana Highway - Road to Hana - The Hana Highway stretches 64.4 miles (103.6 km) and is renowned as the longest coastal scenic route globally. Beyond Kalepa Bridge, it extends to Kipahulu as Hawaii Route 31 (the Piilani Highway). This journey includes 59 single-lane bridges and over 640 turns through lush tropical rainforest. Most of the concrete and steel bridges date back to 1910.
• Paia - Just four miles into the drive to Hāna from Kahului, travelers will find the historic town of Pāʻia on Maui’s north coast. Divided into Lower Pāʻia and Pāʻia, this welcoming community was once a thriving plantation town during Maui’s sugar cane industry boom. Today, Pāʻia boasts colorful, rustic storefronts filled with local art galleries, unique shopping boutiques, and restaurants.
• Ho’okipa Beach Park - Known as the windsurfing capital of the world, Ho’okipa Beach offers the chance to watch windsurfers, kiteboarders, and surfers tackle the ocean’s waves and shoreline winds. It is also the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle capital of Maui, with 200-pound turtles feeding along the shoreline and basking on the beach.
• Twin Falls Maui - Twin Falls is the first easily accessible series of waterfalls and pools on the Road to Hana.
• Haipua’ena Falls - Haipua’ena Falls is a small waterfall and pool along Maui’s popular Road to Hana. Due to the unsigned trail and short hike over a sometimes muddy path, the pool sees fewer visitors than the well-marked falls along the route.
• Ke‘anae Point - Small Hawaiian villages strive to live like the Hawaiians of old, with pig hunting and growing taro, breadfruit, and bananas as integral parts of daily life. It’s also home to the famous Half Way to Hana Snack stand, offering shave ice, fresh coconut, cold drinks, and the Original Fresh Baked Banana Bread. The Keanae overlook and peninsula provide views of one of Hawaii’s largest taro farms.
• Aunty Sandy’s Banana Bread - In 1983, Aunty Sandy Hueu began baking her famous banana bread in Keʻanae, Maui. In 2003, her daughter Tammy joined the business, creating an authentic family-owned and operated food stand on the Keʻanae peninsula. Since then, Aunty Sandy’s has become a must-visit destination for hot, freshly baked banana bread.
• Ching’s Pond - A very photogenic spot for capturing adventurous moments.
• Upper Waikani Falls - Often called Three Bears, Upper Waikani Falls features three separate but parallel falls of varying lengths, with the third and smallest being the “baby bear” falls on the right.
• Wailua Falls - Wailua Falls is a picturesque and easily accessible waterfall visible from The Hana Highway. There’s no need to leave the car to enjoy the view!
• Hana Lava Tubes - Lava tubes form when massive flows cool on the surface, creating an insulating conduit for the lava beneath. During Maui’s volcanic landscape formation, these acted like the volcano’s veins, channeling lava underground before depositing it as new landmass into the ocean. After a volcano becomes dormant, these tubes often cave in and vanish under natural forces. Since much of Maui’s surface formed long ago, few significant lava tubes remain; Ka’eleku Cave is the largest known accessible lava tube on Maui.
• Hana Bay - Located within Hana Bay is Hana Beach Park, featuring a long black-sand beach and the safest swimming beach along the East Maui coast. The bay is protected by a coral reef and sheltered from large swells by its curved shape.
• Wai’anapanapa State Park - Wainapanapa is Maui’s renowned Black Sand Beach. The cobalt blue ocean is surrounded by black sand and black lava rocks from a flow only 10,000 years ago. Visitors can walk along the bay’s edge to admire the blue water or relax under a shade tree. Wai’anapanapa State Park is among the top Road to Hana sites, offering nearly 360-degree panoramic views. On land, green jungle hills and valleys give way to a rugged black basalt lava coastline. At sea, the deep blue ocean and white cresting waves dramatically crash into spray and mist against the jagged cliffs.
• Pua’a Ka’a State Park - The waterfall is easily accessible from here. Some enjoy a dip in the chilly waters by the waterfall on a hot day. Wear layered swimwear and bring a change of clothes. Don’t forget towels.
• Upper Waikani Falls - Located just beyond Mile Marker 19 on the mauka—or mountain side—of Hana Highway, Upper Waikani Falls is often referred to as Three Bears, thanks to the three separate but parallel falls of differing lengths—with the third and smallest being the “baby bear” falls on the right.
• Wailua Valley State Wayside Park - Wailua Valley is an ahupuaʼa just after the Keanae peninsula on the road to Hana. Though small, the area is rich in Hawaiian culture, with rare culturally significant fish and plant life. The area holds many ancient taro, or kalo, patches, some still in operation. In Hawaiian legend, taro is considered the older brother of all Hawaiians, making “Mahiʼaiʼana,” or land cultivation, an enduring principle for the people of Wailuanui.
• Keanae Lookout - The stunning view from this lookout point offers a glimpse into ancient Hawaii’s appearance and atmosphere. It’s like stepping back in time to untouched Maui.
• Honomanu - Just beyond Kaumahina State Wayside Park, there’s a pullout offering a good view of Honomanu Bay. From here, visitors can also enjoy another view of the Ke’anae Peninsula. The views from Kaumahina Wayside Park are superior, so be sure to stop there if possible.
• Kaumahina State Wayside Park - Kaumahina State Wayside Park, or Kaumahina State Park, is located in Maui County, Hawaii, 28.3 miles east of Kahului and 22.4 miles west of Hana along the Hana Highway. The park spans 7.8 acres of forest and exotic plants.
• Eucalyptus Rainbow Trees - The unique rainbow tree displays bright shades of green, blue, purple, orange, and maroon as its bark sheds throughout the year. Hawaii is home to many of these beautiful trees, which can grow to an impressive height of 200 feet! Many consider the rainbow eucalyptus the most beautiful tree on earth.

• Accessibility Notice Please note that our tour is not wheelchair accessible. Due to federal and state safety regulations, we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs, walkers, or similar mobility devices on board, as our vehicle is not ADA-compliant and such items may pose safety hazards during travel. Canes are permitted, but walking sticks are not allowed. There is a low step to board the van, and all guests must be able to get on and off the vehicle independently, without assistance from the driver. Most Road to Hana tours operated legally have similar restrictions, as ADA-compliant vans are wider and subject to different regulations.
• Important Child Safety Notice: Guests traveling with infants, toddlers, or young children must provide their own car seats, booster seats, or other child restraint devices as appropriate for their child’s age, size, and needs. Child safety seats are not provided by Stardust Hawaii. Failure to bring necessary child safety equipment may impact participation in the tour.
• Tour itinerary is subject to change due to weather, road conditions, park closures, construction, or reservation availability. Waiʻānapanapa Black Sand Beach will be visited whenever possible. If access is unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute Red Sand Beach or another comparable attraction without prior notice.
• We reserve the right to substitute the stop at Auntie Sandy’s with Hana Farms when necessary due to closures, extended wait times, traffic conditions, or other operational considerations. Hana Farms is a wonderful local alternative, offering fresh, warm banana bread straight from the oven, comfortable seating, and a beautiful setting to relax and enjoy the experience.
