The tour includes visits to the High Dam, Philae Temple, and the Unfinished Obelisk, along with a delightful sail on the Nile aboard an Egyptian Felucca. Overnight accommodations are provided at the Pyramisa Isis Le Corniche, a 4-star hotel. This full-day tour offers a journey back in time to Ancient Egypt and the era of the Nubian Pharaoh Ramesses II, exploring the temples he constructed for himself and his consort, Queen Nefertari.
Philae Temple
Built to honor the goddess Isis, this temple was the last constructed in the classical Egyptian style. Construction began around 690 BC, and it was one of the final places where the goddess was worshipped.
- Aswan High Dam - The High Dam
The Aswan High Dam is a rock-fill dam located at the northern border between Egypt and Sudan. It is fed by the River Nile, and its reservoir forms Lake Nasser. Construction began in 1960 and was completed in 1968, with its official inauguration in 1971.
- Unfinished Obelisk - The Unfinished Obelisk
Aswan was the source of ancient Egyptās finest granite, used to create statues and adorn temples, pyramids, and obelisks.
The large unfinished obelisk in the Northern Quarries has provided valuable insights into the creation of these monuments, although the complete construction process remains somewhat unclear. Three sides of the shaft, nearly 42 meters long, were completed except for the inscriptions. Weighing 1168 tonnes, the finished obelisk would have been the heaviest piece of stone ever fashioned by the Egyptians.
