A paradise... A bit complicated to reach - Heavenly place, swimming among dolphins and a very rich coral reef in the same place. The only downside is the 4 hours of sailing round trip, and you need a strong stomach because you are in the middle of the Red Sea among the waves. Motion sickness pills are mandatory.

Great tour to the dolphins - Super tour to the Delphin House which can be better almost not organized. The pick-up time is very early (Marsa Alam JAZ Resort 05:00 - travel time by minibus a distance of about 3h, by ship another 2.5h )only definitely worth it. The dolphins come in larger groups several times during the period of stay. So a sifting is almost guaranteed. ATTENTION: People who are not seaworthy should take a close look at the weather (especially the wind and waves) beforehand. We had about 2m when driving out and about 3m waves when driving back and more than half of the tourists lay flat.

Super experience - It was a amazing experience, Beautiful colours of the sea and so many dolphins in it. Friendly crew, good food. But it was a long trip from the hotel to the boat, pick up early in the morning and the sea can be wild!

Overall we recommend it - such a cool experience to swim with the dolphins! - We had a very full and enjoyable day! The trip to get there was long, but we had a great experience swimming/snorkeling with the dolphins! There were so many dolphins, swimming all around and among us, right up close! Our guide Sayeed was very helpful, and the boat and the lunch were good. The only negatives we experienced were (1) that after the fact, we were told we need to pay for the wetsuits we used - it would have been appropriate to tell that upfront so we could make an informed choice about whether we wanted them; and (2) the photographer on the trip (from an independent business) wanted us to pay for a photo package that would be sent to us later on WhatsApp, but when we asked our hotel and Sayeed both to call the number given to us for the photography company to check, it didn't exist. We luckily did not pay, but we were disappointed as we would have liked the pictures, but did not feel comfortable paying after that. Otherwise it was all great and overall we recommend it!

Unique dolphin experience – but unfortunately too much hustle and bustle - We booked the excursion to Sataya Reef for just under €190 for two people through TUI. Overall, it was a nice experience, although there are a few points one should know before booking. The boat trip to the reef is not for weak stomachs. The swell was very strong at times and several guests became seasick. The staff on board (over 10 crew members) was very friendly at first. Over the course of the day, however, one increasingly had the feeling that the excursion was supposed to be turned into a party boat. That was not quite to our taste. Swimming with the dolphins was, of course, a unique experience – we were lucky and were able to see them. However, one should be aware that sightings are not guaranteed and the encounters often last only a few seconds. Furthermore, after the encounters, we sometimes drifted for a long time in the open sea until the boat picked us up again. We found that a bit uncomfortable. Unfortunately, snorkeling at the reef itself was rather stressful for us. Our guide constantly called the group together and kept urging us to swim faster. As a result, there was hardly any time to enjoy the underwater world in peace. We would like to highlight the photographer on board as a positive. He was very dedicated and took some truly impressive photos and videos. At the same time, however, this also created the impression that the focus was partly on producing the most spectacular shots possible for later sale. The lunch was okay, but for our taste, the boat was quite full with an estimated 30 guests. That is why we were divided into groups for various activities. Conclusion: Anyone who really wants the chance to swim with wild dolphins can have an unforgettable experience here – provided you are lucky. However, anyone looking for a relaxed snorkeling trip with plenty of time in the water might be rather disappointed by the organization and the pace.

Dolphin hunting - We were horrified to realize what we signed up for. The excursion is a mass tourism handling, which is all about presenting far too many people on far too many boats, dolphins. The poor animals are virtually chased by the guides on the dinghies so that several groups of people can jump into the water at the same time to swim with the dolphins. Many snorkel and swim without regard to losses. Many cannot snorkel or operate the fins they wear on their feet. For the perfect photo, they then huddle close to the animals. We drove again with an incredibly bad conscience and are angry that we fell for the stories of our guide. We should have known better, and hope to save others from having the same experience. We would never have booked this trip if we had known in advance how shamelessly far too many people are being carted on large boats to then hunt dolphins in smaller boats.
