Unforgettable stay - detailed review + photos: - We had a great stay in Egypt last October. We were amazed! 🤩 We stayed 10 days: - Cairo (managed by ourselves) - The cruise with Marsa Alam Tours (from Aswan to Luxor up the Nile) - Hurghada (managed by ourselves) With the cruise we left Aswan to go up to Luxor aboard the Royal Princess: Excursions : Aswan: * Temple of Philae * The big dam *Unfinished obelisk * Abu Simbel Temples (+85€/pers) * The desert *Kom Ompo Temple Luxor: * Edfu Temple * The souk *Karnak Temple * Luxor Temple * The Valley of the Kings * Temple of Hatshepsut The strong points : - discover the beauty of Egypt. - our guide Hammad who spoke French. - the knowledge of our guide. - the comfort of our cabin. - the swimming pool (unheated), the jacuzzi and the terrace on the cruise. - the food offered. - the visits offered. - the people on board the boat for their service and friendliness. - the drivers encountered. The weak spots : - very very complicated exchange with the agency before our stay! 0 information, 0 response to our WhatsApp messages / emails… which spoiled the start of our stay. because we didn't know where to go? who was coming to pick us up? not even 2 hours before the departure of the cruise! to completely review at this level fortunately our guide Hammad was there for us throughout the 4 days (explanation, translation…) he raised the level ++! - drinks not included, because the cruise price is still significant! - the “forcing” of Egyptians in general to jump on us for everything… To know : - provide a tip for the drivers / guide / toilets / excursions. - awakenings are between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. so you can enjoy the heat and the crowds before sunrise. breakfasts will be ready to take away. - always have water with you (high heat even in October ≈ 40°). - wear outfits with covered shoulders, loose pants, long dresses, etc. - there are a lot of car journeys between each excursion, especially to go to Abu Simbel (+5 hours drive one way). - always negotiate prices when you buy something and compare with the € to avoid being cheated! don’t hesitate to be “firm.” A lovely country to visit! ☀️ And a big thank you to Hammad for his knowledge!

Perfectly planned and eventful tour - We took a car from Marsa Alam to Luxor, then to Aswan and Abu Simbel. The tour is absolutely worthwhile. The guides (tour was in German) were very friendly and shone with extensive expertise. Even the driver was always on time and we always felt safe despite a long driving time. The sites visited are great if you are interested in Egyptian history. On the way to Abu Simbel there is still Sahara feeling incl. mirages :) Also the hotels were very well chosen and have a high standard. Notes and criticism: 1. The journey time from Marsa Alam is very long. The roads are not always well developed. You have to be aware that you spend a lot of time in the car. 2. The time at the excavation sites is calculated rather tightly. Especially on the first day we always felt a bit under time pressure. But that certainly differs individually. We are more interested and like to take our time. 3. What we didn't like were the two "craft visits". Above all, the visit to the alabaster workshop after the Valley of the Kings remains negatively remembered. You didn't learn much. They wanted to force things on us to buy. In our opinion, that was unworthy of such a high-level leadership. Nevertheless, there are 5 stars. A really impressive and eventful tour. Especially during a diving holiday, this tour offers an excellent variety.

Wonderful immersion in the greatness of Pharaohs - Even if the drive is a bit long (about 7 hours) to Aswan, it is definitely worth it! In particular, Abu Simbel & the Temple of Philae. And of course, the city of Aswan, always magical and romantic! Thanks to the very professional guide, who knew how to make alive and exciting the history of ancient Egypt. And a special mention for the attentive services and extreme driving quality of our driver Ahmed! Bravo & thank you for this wonderful excursion!

Discovering a new life over 4 days.. - A trip that will leave us with many different memories.. some sad some happy- a very different life indeed. Our wonderful guide,Saleh, made us feel very welcome and safe, always on time, always attentive ,always gentil and with a smile; well -informed, full of the Egyptian history to share with us.Taxi or small boat always on time to take us from one place to another. The “little Titanic ” style boat The Royal Princess” was beautiful with kind, attentive staff always happy. Only down point was the noise of the motor/generator, which continued all night and the way the boats moored , one stuck along side the next, meant we had no light into our room until we set sail again. But the gentil , relaxing music up on the deck top was a dream , as we watched the green gardens of the Nile go by in serenity. A very varied and full timetable, which meant we had to rush at times. Didnt appreciate the pony and trap ride at all-(at 5 in the morning )because of the speed, the noise, the terrified , skeletic ponies- complete stress for us. Adored the quiet boat rides across the the Nubian village/Bontanical gardens … A big thankyou again to Seleh- who we wont forget.
