Marrakech Tizi-n-Tichka Ouarzazate Draa Valley Zagora
Marrakech - At 07:00 a.m., we begin gathering passengers from their hotels, a process that takes about 30 minutes. An additional 15 minutes is needed to coordinate the buses for the excursions, so departure is at 7:45 a.m. daily, except for those who book the private trip option, who will be taken directly to their destination. Passengers outside the specified pickup area can enter their Marrakech address during booking and contact us to arrange transportation from their hotel or come directly to the meeting point.
Toufliht - Once all tourists are on the bus, our journey to the ancient city of Zagora begins. Zagora, with its desert Berber character, is home to both Arab and Berber inhabitants. Along the way, we will stop to visit archaeological and historical sites as well as natural attractions. An hour after leaving Marrakech, we will stop in the Moroccan village of Toufliht to enjoy views of Berber houses on the High Atlas Mountains’ slopes and take a short break at a popular café at an altitude of 1450 meters.
Tizi n Tichka - Morocco is renowned for its ethnic and cultural diversity and its mountain ranges, including the Atlas and Rif ranges. Mount Tizi n Tichka, the second highest peak in Morocco and North Africa after Jebel Toubkal, stands at 2,260 meters above sea level. We will take a short break to admire this legendary mountain and capture beautiful memories.
Ouarzazate - Ouarzazate, possibly of Berber origin meaning “silent city,” is famous worldwide for its tranquility and as a filming location for movies like Gladiator, The Mummy, Prince of Persia, and the Game of Thrones series. We will stop in this beautiful city for lunch and visit the Cinema Museum and Kasbah Taourirt.
Anti-Atlas Mountains - Continuing our journey to Zagora, we will pass through the Anti-Atlas mountain ranges, known for their short, rounded peaks, earning them the nickname “Cups Mountains.” We will pause for ten minutes to take pictures of the scenic views and simple homes in the plains below.
Draa Valley - The Draa Valley, originating from the High Atlas Mountains, is one of the most important valleys in southern Morocco. Stretching about 1,200 km, it flows at a speed of 243 cubic meters per second. The valley is rich in tangible and intangible heritage and is known for its historical kasbahs, which served as resting places for Moroccan merchants traveling to Central and South Africa. The region is also a major supplier of dates due to its abundant palm trees. We will pause to take pictures.
Zagora - Zagora, one of the seven regions of the Souss-Massa-Draa region, extends between the Atlantic Ocean and Algeria. Its location at the desert’s gateway, combined with its unique landscapes, kind people, palaces, kasbahs, oases, hills, sand dunes, and ancient history, makes it enchanting.
Zagora Desert Tours - After reaching the center of Zagora, we will meet the camel guide for a Camel tour to watch the magical sunset and enjoy mint tea with nomads in the camp. We will then explore the desert, witnessing an incredible night sky, before returning to camp for dinner and music around a campfire.
Zagora Agdez Ait Benhaddou _ Marrakech
Zagora - On the second day, we will wake up before sunrise to witness the first light of the day, followed by breakfast. We will then ride camels back to our vehicles to begin our return journey to Marrakech.
Agdz - Located 65 km south of Ouarzazate, Agdz features Jebel El Kisan on the horizon. This small town has restaurants, a pharmacy, shops, and a date market. After crossing the south bridge, we will drive along a beautiful road through the Draa Valley oases to reach Ouarzazate.
Ait Ben Haddou - About 30 km northwest of Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou Palace is a famous historical site and popular filming location for movies like Gladiator, The Jewel of the Nile, Prince of Persia, and Lawrence of Arabia. The palace, with its splendid Berber architecture and intricate alleys, was once a gateway for Bedouin caravans. We will spend two hours here to explore and have lunch.
Marrakech - After visiting Ait Ben Haddou, a 16th-century kasbah, and having lunch (not included), we will continue our journey, arriving in Marrakech around 6:30 p.m.
