Typical steam room - Typical place, women are very nice. You'll come out relaxed. We did: Black soap scrub with glove offered a Ghassoul Wrap. A glass of Moroccan mint tea was offered at the end of the treatment. Anyway... we came out relaxed

Hammam experience and local culture experience - One of those authentic hammam experiences run by the locals and for the locals, while being very accommodating towards tourists. This is a great way to immerse yourself into the local culture through relaxation. Shoutout to Hadija, my masseuse, for relieving me from neck pain through her amazing massage skills.

Hidden gem - Authentic and fun experience. A friend and I went for the first time. Lovely ladies, great scrub and added on a massage which was wonderful. The ladies were welcoming and friendly.

Last time... - It's already several times around here.. the same old, interesting local experience of Hammam and a correct massage, but last time he dropped me around because I always have to endure the unkindness of the colored boy who works there as relationships, not one more..

Memorable experience - Weirdest, strangest experience I won’t be forgetting in a hurry. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to be a medieval sheep with travel insurance, Hammam Mouassine has you covered. From the moment we arrived, we were efficiently herded (via pointing and enthusiastic grunts) from undressing in the reception to lying on a hard concrete floors, wearing only our knickers, holding on to our dignity unsuccessfully, in a room with six other women, every face said the same thing: “It’s too late to leave, isn’t it?” One by one, we were summoned like contestants on a very quiet, very naked game show. Each of us was scrubbed, rinsed, and aggressively exfoliated with the famous black soap, until we sparkled with both cleanliness and mild shock. Then it was back to the “relaxation room” for more nervous relaxing—wide-eyed, slippery humans, gloriously unclothed, clinging to our dignity and silently wondering what fresh surprise awaited us next. Authentic? Absolutely. Relaxing? Absolutely not. Memorable? Unfortunately, forever.

Germaphobes beware! - Definitely, a cultural and historical experience, but it isn’t for everyone. If you are a germaphobe, this is not the place for you!

Think before passing the welcome turn around - Before explaining our experience I would like to warn that the photos are no longer relevant at all The exterior paintings are rather black than white In the steam room do not raise your head We have already had a lot of experience in typical hammam We realized very quickly that the place was not very clear You arrive by the white plastic massage booths open door seen on the cabin room in Turkish toilet string at the end with the bucket The welcome really not top without smiling we do not feel welcome Room for black soap on carpets where everyone passes Correct scrub Waiting room while waiting for shampoo and rinse (anguish version) Always on carpet where everyone passes They dry the towels at the bottom we will soon understand that she uses the same towels for everyone When she washes you and rinses you away from the delicacy in speech also basically we shut up and obey We are directed with authority and quickly at the massage it urges many people fortunately we had taken a massage of 30 minutes The massage was great The napkin in the hole of the table for the head reeked People start smiling at you when you change (for the tip, surely) Our men laughed even less than we did at unacceptable violence (scrub with pats to turn they were very shocked when leaving) They laughed at first but we quickly disgust The next day we saw a scene where the gentleman would quickly give his wife a hug and tell her a little comfort we understood that they were not the only ones So advice really cheap but far from living up to the notes and comments I had read flee asking rather advice from the landlords there are so many better places than this one (for having made several) I can’t understand why their grades are so good given the degraded state of the school and so little hygiene

To flee absolutely, dirty and dangerous - Never had such a bad experience. Dilapidated and dirty place. Hammam unworthy of the name, dangerous borderline massage ⚠️ the masseur destroyed my cervicals and twisted my fingers with a lot of pain. I am really a massage enthusiast and so I prefer to say run away if you can. I can't put less than 1 star but sincerely it's worth zero pointed.

Worse Hammam in Town - We booked for 4pm. We waited TWO hours. Then we were told massage will only be 30 minutes (we agreed on 45 in the booking). We did not agree and finally paid for 45. We finally got in. Then everything was in a hurry (7 minutes for scrubing and rassoul thing) so we had to argue again. Some ladies inside the hammam were nice some other not at all. It wasn’t even hot inside. The massage was 30 minutes and 15 minutes waiting at the end in a cold room under a towel… when we were about to leave the girl at the desk asked if it has been ok and I answered no and explained myself. I had there ladies holding my arms, and shouting I was a lier. Very rude experience. DO NOT GO THERE

Not to be repeated - Local experience does not mean lack of attention and questionable hygiene. Reception only in French or rare words of English, absence of changing rooms so you had to undress in an open room at the entrance. No bathrobe but a towel already damp on delivery, on slippers I prefer to discard. The more than ancient environment was old, poorly maintained and in need of maintenance. Apparently not too clean either. The steam room was crowded and they made us sit on plastic mats that were very used and not really clean; the steam was not present! After a few minutes (but you should not spend the time necessary to prepare the skin) a lady arrived who, unable to communicate because she speaks only Moroccan, shrieked at me as if I were a horse. Courtesy and empathy absent like steam. Then we were parked, with a paste on that we don't know what it was, in another room. 15 minutes and back into the first room to be rinsed with a sponge that was probably as old as the hammam. At the exit I was handed a wet towel which was certainly not the one I entered with. At this point I had the massage and I waited, wet and covered only with an equally wet towel, at the entrance overlooking the street directly; bad luck has it that yesterday it was 13 degrees. With goosebumps and trembling they made me sit on a frosty bed, in a shared room and I was covered with other towels always damp but at least warm. The massage was a passage to absorb oil, it did not seem done by a competent person. To get dressed I went back to the entrance room where I would have been entitled to a glass of tea that I gladly gave up. I do not dispute the absence of comfort but of empathy and hygiene. Never again.
