Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - At around 8:00 am, the driver will collect the operator from their hotel or riad in Marrakech to commence a private 3-day tour to the Sahara. The journey will traverse the Tizi n’Tichka Pass through the High Atlas Mountains, passing by traditional Berber villages.
The first significant stop is Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its kasbahs and as a filming location for movies like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. After exploring the site, enjoy lunch at a panoramic restaurant with views of the kasbah.
Next, the tour proceeds to Ouarzazate, where there is an option to visit the Atlas Film Studios, and then continues to Skoura to admire the impressive Kasbah Amridil. The journey continues along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs towards the Valley of Roses and the town of Kalaat M’gouna, celebrated for its annual Rose Festival. Arrival in Dades Valley is expected by evening, where dinner and an overnight stay in a charming riad await.
DADES VALLEY – TODRA GORGES – AMAZIGHS VILLAGES – ERRFOUD – MERZOUGA DESERT (CAMEL TREK & OVERNIGHT IN BERBERE CAMP)
Merzouga Desert - On the second day, after enjoying a traditional Moroccan breakfast, the tour will proceed through the scenic Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing ancient fortresses and picturesque Berber villages in the Dades Canyon. Revel in the stunning views of historic caravan routes and dramatic landscapes.
The tour will then visit the Todra Valley, a lush area filled with palms leading to the impressive Todra Gorges. A short walk through the canyon, surrounded by towering pink and grey cliffs, offers a true natural wonder.
In the afternoon, the journey continues to Merzouga and the towering Erg Chebbi dunes. From here, a 1.5-hour camel ride into the Sahara begins, with a stop in the dunes to enjoy a breathtaking sunset and optional sandboarding.
Upon arrival at the desert camp, guests will be welcomed with mint tea. The evening includes a delicious dinner, Berber music, a campfire, and stargazing, followed by an overnight stay in a traditional nomadic tent under the stars.
MERZOUGA DESERT – DRAA VALLEY – ATLAS MOUNTAINS – MARRAKECH
Draa Valley - On the third day of the trip, guests will wake up early to enjoy the sunrise (optional) camel trek over Erg Chebbi sand dunes. After breakfast in the camp, the return to Merzouga center from the desert camp will be by 4WD vehicle or camel ride, depending on preference.
The journey will continue through Draa Valley, proceeding to the final leg of the trip through N’kob before arriving once again at the city of Ouarzazate. A leisurely lunch will be enjoyed before finally heading back to Marrakech through the Atlas Mountains, concluding the 3-day desert trip at approximately 19:00 PM.
