During your tour, see Berber villages and hamlets perched on the mountain slopes of the High Atlas Mountains. Enjoy ample time to stop and take photos of the small terraces of various crops and other wonderful and exotic scenes. Take the opportunity to visit a local Berber house and some pottery stores, as well as shops with a variety of minerals and crystals, before returning to Marrakech. Get picked up from your hotel in Marrakech or meet us nearby, and drive into the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, which rise from the plains. Then, enter a lush, agricultural valley with a thriving traditional culture. Make your first stop of the day at a place where local Berber women extract precious argan oil from the kernels of the argan tree. A wonderful family hike - It was Mohamed who first contacted us the day before the excursion to find out where we wanted the small 7 seater bus to pick us up and agree on the schedule. On time, Ahmed, our driver for the day was there to greet us and drive us to the Ourika Valley. A member of the group (we shared this tour with another family) had not had time to have his coffee, with the agreement of all, Ahmed managed to make a coffee stop. He then suggested that we visit a "shop" that presents the transformation of Argan. It is obviously a bit "touristy" but the welcome is very pleasant, we were treated to a tasting of products and there is no pressure to buy. The icing on the cake, at the back of the shop you can enjoy a beautiful terrace garden along the torrent. After a photo stop in a lace of the road that allows very nice shots of the valley we arrived at the starting point of the hike. Saïd, our guide on the steep paths leading to the waterfalls, took over. Said made us share “his” valley. He’s from here and you can feel it. He explains, he shows, he answers, he proposes, he always helps with a smile and kindness. Thanks to him we were sometimes able to bypass the places a little too busy and escape from the classic path to see the waterfalls a little closer. We had the chance to discover the Ourika Valley under the sun, it is from our point of view, indispensable to fully enjoy the fabulous landscapes that are available to you throughout the hike and why not a footbath in the very cool torrent. After a last gap passing through a little “private” land (occupied by some monkeys) Saïd accompanied us to the table reserved by the organization on the edge of the torrent. It was an incredible moment of relaxation, sitting on carpets by the water. For 129 dirham per person (starter, main course, dessert) we shared a tasty and hearty meal. As Said so well says, this is everyone’s kitchen. Include tourists but also locals. Before heading back, Mohamed joined Said and Ahmed to greet us and make sure we had a good time. We can say, this hike in the Ourika Valley, will remain an unforgettable moment of our stay in Marrakech. Merci Mohamed. Merci Ahmed. Thank you Said

Needs better communication - Our tour was not as good as the reviews we'd read. Mohamed didn't show up for the tour, but sent his brother, who didn't speak a lot of English. He lead us to the Atlas Mountain, but there was no info to inform us as we hiked there because he couldn't communicate to us very well. Afterwards, we'd expected to walk back down the mountain, but were instead, lead on a long hike to his house for lunch. We were told that lunch would cost 7 EU, but since we didn't receive the breakfast that the tour included, he provided us lunch without charge.
Another aspect of the tour that I did't like was all the stops at various merchants to sell us products. It made us think that the tour received commission on any products sold to us.
Overall, the whole experience would have been much better with better communication. It would have been better if Mohamed had actually lead the tour as his English was very good and we would have learned more about the mountain, rather than just lead there. As it were, the communication was horrible from start to finish, so the experience was not good.
