Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley
Marrakech - Begin the day with an early pickup in Marrakech. Journey through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m), pausing for photographs and to admire Berber villages and terraced fields.
Descend into the arid pre-Saharan region. Explore Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its 17th-century ksar and as a film location. Enjoy a guided walk and climb for panoramic views.
Lunch is available near Ait Ben Haddou (not included). Continue the journey through Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” with an optional stop at Taourirt Kasbah or the Cinema Museum if time permits.
Travel along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through towns, palm groves, and unique rock formations.
Arrive in the late afternoon at Dades Valley, famous for its “monkey fingers” rock formations. Check into a hotel or riad. Dinner is included. An optional evening walk is available before resting overnight.
Dades – Todra Gorges – Merzouga (Camel ride & camp)
Dades Gorges - Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Take a short drive to a viewpoint in Dades Valley to see the Dades Gorges and the serpentine road. A guide will explain the geological formations.
Proceed to Todra Gorges, where cliffs reach up to 300 m and narrow to just 10 m. Walk along the canyon floor, with the possibility of seeing rock climbers.
Drive towards Merzouga as the landscape becomes more arid and the first sand dunes appear.
Lunch is available in Tinghir or Erfoud (not included).
Arrive in Merzouga, with an option to shower and change at a local hotel.
Meet a camel guide for an approximately 1-hour sunset trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Reach the camp in time to watch the sunset from a high dune.
Settle into a tent. Dinner is served in a dining tent or under the stars. Enjoy an evening of Berber music by the campfire and stargazing.
The desert camp offers tents with beds and shared bathrooms, with the option to sleep outside under the stars.
Merzouga – Alnif – Agdz – Ouarzazate
Merzouga - Wake up early to witness the Sahara sunrise over the dunes. Have breakfast at the camp. Take a camel ride back to Merzouga, enjoying the morning desert views.
Shower at a local hotel. Begin a relaxed return drive.
Travel through Alnif, known for its fossils, and then Agdz in the Draa Valley, featuring palm groves and kasbahs. Lunch stop in Agdz (not included).
Continue to Ouarzazate. Check into a hotel. Enjoy free time to explore:
