Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades

Marrakech - For the shared small group Merzouga 3 days 2 nights desert tour, a friendly driver will pick up participants from their hotel in Marrakech at 7am. The journey begins by traveling through the magnificent Atlas Mountains and the Tichka Pass (2260 m), offering breathtaking landscapes in the heart of the Atlas Mountain chain, leading to Ouarzazate, where many famous movies such as Alexander the Great, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Kingdom of Heaven have been filmed. The scenery is truly stunning. There will be a stop at the kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, one of the most spectacular fortresses in Southern Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Lunch will be in Ait Benhaddou, followed by a continuation to Ouarzazate, known as “The Hollywood of Africa.”

Boumalne Dades - The journey continues to the Valley of Roses, renowned for its annual festival during the rose harvest in May. Spend the night with dinner in Dades Valley at an auberge featuring traditional Berber architecture and views of the mountains and valley.

Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert Camp

Todra Gorge - On the second day of the Marrakech to Fes desert tour, after breakfast, participants will enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the Dades Valley from a strategic lookout in the mountains, where the numerous kasbahs and their scenic characteristics can be appreciated. A well-maintained asphalt road leads up the valley from the city of Tinerhir to the gorge and then to the desert. After several stops along the way, the journey reaches the Todra Gorges. The scenery is spectacular, with local people living in adobe villages in the area. Thanks to its rock sides with many uneven surfaces, these gorges are popular among rock climbers. After a short walk in the Todra Gorges, there will be free time for lunch in Tinejdad or Touroug.

Merzouga - The journey continues to the desert to reach the spectacular dunes of Merzouga. Participants will take a one-hour camel ride to a nomad camp located in the middle of a sea of dunes (Erg Chebbi). Before dinner, the sunset will be viewed from the top of a dune, followed by a night spent in a tent under a beautiful starry sky.

Merzouga - Alnif - Tazarine - Agdez - Marrakech

Merzouga - The next day begins with an early sunrise camel hike through the Erg Chebbi dunes, returning to the lodge for breakfast. Participants will then meet up with their vehicle and drive back to Ouarzazate.

Ouarzazate - The drive continues through the winding roads of lush palm groves in the Draa Valley. After some leisure time and an opportunity for lunch, the journey proceeds back to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains.

The 3-day group desert tour concludes in Marrakech at approximately 7pm, although this time is an estimate.
