The itinerary includes a visit to local Argan oil cooperatives, offering insights into the extraction process and diverse applications of this unique oil. The next stop is the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, renowned for its famous Kasbah and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This remarkable location has been featured in films such as “Gladiator” and “The Jewel of the Nile.”
After enjoying lunch in Ait Ben Haddou, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, often called the gateway to the desert. The route then leads through the picturesque Rose Valley and the Skoura Palm Grove, finally arriving at Boumalne Dades.
Tonight’s accommodation is at the delightful Dades Hotel, where dinner and breakfast will be served.
Ait Ben Haddou - Setting off at 7:30 AM, the adventure begins towards the desert, passing through the majestic Atlas Mountains. The journey includes crossing the Tizi N’Tichka pass, with stops at scenic viewpoints to capture breathtaking panoramic vistas.
The first stop is at local Argan oil producers, providing insights into the extraction process and various uses of this valuable oil. Continuing onwards, the journey reaches the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its Kasbah. This historic site has been the backdrop for numerous blockbuster films, including “Gladiator” and “The Jewel of the Nile.”
After a delightful lunch in the village, the journey proceeds to Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert. The route then ascends to the Valley of Roses, passing through the lush Skoura Palm Grove and Boumalne Dades.
Tonight’s stay is at Dades valley, where a sumptuous dinner and hearty breakfast will be enjoyed.
Dades - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Rissani – Merzouga Desert
Dades Gorges - Following breakfast, the journey to Merzouga begins, passing by the impressive Todra Gorges. Lunch is enjoyed along the way before reaching the expansive Merzouga dunes, where a warm welcome with traditional tea showcases the desert’s hospitality.
Luggage is left at the accommodation, as it won’t be needed in the desert. Instead, a dromedary caravan adventure begins for about an hour, leading to the tented camp with showers. Along the way, there’s a pause to witness the mesmerizing sunset over the dunes, setting the stage for a traditional dinner accompanied by typical music.
As night falls, settle into the tent for a peaceful desert sleep, with the option to interact with local camels and immerse in the tranquil desert ambiance under the starlit sky.
Merzouga -Ouarzazate – Atlas Marrakech
Merzouga - Early in the morning, depart from the camp to witness the stunning sunrise over the desert landscape. Enjoy breakfast at the camp with showers available.
The journey back to Marrakech begins, traversing the arid yet captivating desert landscapes. Pass through El Kalaa M’gouna, where lunch awaits.
Arrive back in Marrakech around 19:30h, concluding the unforgettable desert adventure.
Atlas Mountains View - Crossing the Anti Atlas, the journey continues towards Ouarzazate. Lunch is enjoyed there before proceeding to Marrakech, with an anticipated arrival time around 19h30.
