- Jardin Majorelle - Begin the journey with a significant visit to the Botanical Garden and artist’s landscape garden in Marrakech. Created by the French Orientalist artist Jacques Majorelle in 1923, it opened to the public in 1947. The garden features a Cubist villa designed by French architect Paul Sinoir in the 1930s. Nearby, the new Yves Saint Laurent Museum offers a well-curated experience to appreciate YSL’s brilliance and attention to detail. The gift shop provides a wide range of items at various price points. Together with Jardin Majorelle, it is a perfect highlight of Marrakech.
- Musee Berbere Jardin Majorelle - Continue the visit with the Berber Museum, inaugurated in 2011 under the High Patronage of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of Morocco. It is housed in the former painting studio of Jacques Majorelle and showcases the extraordinary creativity of the Berbers (Imazighen), the oldest people of North Africa. Over 600 objects, collected from the Rif Mountains to the Sahara by Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent, highlight the richness and diversity of this vibrant culture, which remains alive today.
- Musee Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech - Dedicated to the legendary French fashion designer, the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech (mYSLm) opened in autumn 2017. It houses a significant selection from the Fondation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent’s impressive collection, including 5,000 clothing items, 15,000 haute couture accessories, and tens of thousands of sketches and assorted objects. Designed by the French architecture firm Studio KO, founded by architects Olivier Marty and Karl Fournier, the building is located on Rue Yves Saint Laurent, next to the famous Jardin Majorelle. The new building spans over 4,000 m2 and is more than just a museum. It features a 400 m2 permanent exhibition space showcasing Yves Saint Laurent’s work with an original scenography by Christophe Martin, a 150 m2 temporary exhibition space, a 130-seat auditorium, a bookshop, a café-restaurant with a terrace, and a research library housing 5,000 books.
- Gueliz - After visiting the Majorelle Garden, the Berber Museum, and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, pass by Gueliz on the way to the Medina. Known as the ‘new city’, this modern side of Marrakech was designed and built by the French in the early 1900s. Today, it is the thriving heart of the Red City, featuring popular international brands and fine cafés. The main avenue is affectionately called “the Champs Elysées of Marrakech.”
- Koutoubia Mosque - Drive through the walls of the old town, known as the Medina, to the Koutoubia Mosque. Founded in 1147, it is Marrakech’s largest mosque and a city landmark, inspiring other buildings such as the Giralda of Seville and the Hassan Tower of Rabat. The guide will provide a tour and share extensive information about it.
- Bab Agnaou - Continue driving by the imperial Kasbah with a stop at the famous gate, Bab Agnaou. It is one of the 19 gates that allow entry into the ramparts of Marrakech. This gate, dating from the Almohad Berber period in the 12th century, served as an entrance to the administrative and military complex of the Caliphal Kasbah, the citadel of power, from the south of the city. Flanked by two cannons, it is one of the most impressive gates of Marrakech.
- Bahia Palace - Arrive at an important monument: Bahia Palace. Driving through the Jewish quarter, the Bahia, or “The Beautiful,” is an 8,000-square-meter extravagance of intricate marquetry, plasterwork, and zouak (painted wood), and is certainly one of Marrakech’s most stunning sights. Built by Grand Vizier Si Moussa in the 1860s, the salons of both the Petit Riad and Grand Riad feature intricate marquetry and zouak ceilings. The Cour d’Honneur, a grand courtyard with a 1,500-square-meter floor of Italian Carrara marble, is the undisputed highlight. Despite the vast area on display, only a portion of the palace’s eight hectares and 150 rooms is open to the public. Its grand spaces sometimes host important cultural events.
- Souk Semmarine - After visiting Bahia Palace, take a lunch break to enjoy traditional Moroccan food. Then, walk through the Semmarine Souks to explore and discover the colorful markets or “Souks.” Follow the guide to discover the markets in Marrakech’s Medina, where Arab and Berber cultures burst with color, noise, and originality. Smell spices, taste olives, touch leather goods, and buy local handicrafts.
- Jemaa el-Fnaa - After navigating the labyrinth of the Souks, arrive at the famous square, Jemaa El Fna. Here, snake charmers, storytellers, acrobats, and street vendors animate the old walled city. In the evening, it becomes a place for food, with small open-air restaurants. This is the main attraction for tourists in Marrakech.
- Ben Youssef Madrasa - Conclude the visit with the last sightseeing monument, Ben Youssef Madrasa. The largest Koranic school in the Medina, it now functions as a historical site. At its peak, it was the largest Islamic college in Morocco. Named after the adjacent Ben Youssef Mosque, founded by the Almoravid Sultan Ali ibn Yusuf (reigned 1106-1142), it is considered one of the best spots in the Red City. The guide will provide extensive information about it. Then return to the accommodation.
