- Douar Sidi Youssef Ben Ali - We will pass by a traditional neighborhood marketplace and stop nearby for a traditional breakfast enjoyed by locals. Sample bisara (a soup made from flat beans) and loubia (saucy white beans), accompanied by local bread and sweet mint tea.
- Royal Palace of Marrakech - Originally constructed by the Almoravid Youseff ben Tashfin in 1070 and updated by Ali ben Yousseff in 1106, the palace was restored and completed by the Alouite family dynasty in the 17th century. As it is used by the Royal Family, tourists cannot enter, so we will cycle past it.
- Saadian Tombs - We will pause just outside the Saadian tombs, as bikes are not permitted inside. We will also visit the Kasbah Mosque, built by Ya’qub al-Mansur of the Almohad dynasty between 1185 and 1190.
- Mellah - From the Kasbah, we will enter the Medina and proceed to the Mellah, the traditional Jewish quarter of Marrakech. Known for its gold, silver, fish, and spice markets, we will stop at a spice seller we know well for a comprehensive explanation of Moroccan spices. You may purchase or simply enjoy learning.
- Marrakech - We will dine at a local restaurant, sampling a variety of foods. Starting with a Moroccan salad, you can taste tangia, couscous, and tagine, concluding with traditional mint tea. Save room for a separate stop for cookies.
- Jemaa el-Fnaa - We will enter Jemaa el-Fnaa by bike, a world heritage site where travelers have historically gathered to trade, enjoy performances, and savor food and drink. We will pause in the center of the square for a refreshing glass of orange juice and visit the 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque to learn about its historical significance.
- AXS Bike Tours & Hire Marrakech - Enjoy some sweets along the way as we navigate the maze of streets back to our starting point at AXS Bike Tours and Hire, enriched with memories and flavors of Marrakech.
