Day 1: #Marrakech - #AitBenHaddou – Roses and #Dades Valleys

Marrakech - Upon picking you up at Marrakech airport, or at your preferred hotel or riad, we will embark on an unforgettable 4-day journey through the heart of Morocco. As we traverse the Atlas Mountains, we will cross Tizi n’Tichka, the highest road pass in Morocco at 2,260 meters.

Ait Ben Haddou - Our journey through the Atlas Mountains will lead us to Ouarzazate. We will venture to the outskirts of the city to visit the legendary kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a citadel that has served as a natural set for films such as Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven. We will also view the kasbah of Taourirt from the outside.

Dades Gorges - From Ait Ben Haddou, we will continue our itinerary towards Skoura, where we will be enchanted by the kasbah of Amredhyle. We will conclude this memorable day by crossing the valleys of Roses and Dades. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a hotel in the Dades Valley.

Day 2: #Dades Valley – #Todra Gorges – #Merzouga

Merzouga - After a hearty breakfast at the hotel in the Dades Valley, we will head towards the Todra Gorges. We will marvel at the stunning natural landscapes of these breathtaking gorges, whose rugged terrain has been skillfully utilized by the local Berbers.
The journey will continue towards the lush palm grove of Jorf and the small town of Erfoud, where we will visit a traditional marble workshop. As the orange hues of dusk begin to paint the Moroccan sky, we will arrive at the Merzouga desert. We will proceed to the tent camp where we will spend the next two nights, enjoying an exhilarating camel ride through the dunes. The day will end with a delicious dinner under the desert stars.

Day 3 - Discover the desert: Jamlia people, the nomads

Merzouga - We will rise early to witness the sunrise in the desert from our tents. After breakfast at the tent restaurant, you can return to the Merzouga hostel by camel or 4×4.
Our first stop will be the oasis of Tissardmine, where we will be amazed by its palm grove and vegetation amidst the desert landscape, where crops are typically grown.

Merzouga - We will continue along a route once used in the Dakar Rally and head to a viewpoint offering a panoramic view of the Merzouga desert. Next, we will visit a nomadic community in the Merzouga desert. The nomads live in adobe houses and haimas, and they will share their way of life in the desert with us. We will proceed along a path through the Hamada (stone desert) to the Mfiss mines, where quartz, lead, and Khol (used for eye makeup pencils) are extracted.

Merzouga - We will explore the village of Khamlia, known for its Gnawa music. Here, we will attend a small music concert. In Khamlia, most residents are originally from Mali and Sudan, having arrived during the days of slavery. Traditional Gnawa music conveys the culture and values of this community.
In Khamlia, we will have lunch and try the local specialty: Berber pizza!
After our visit, we will transfer you to the hotel for a half-day rest. The afternoon is free (Before sunset, we offer the option to climb a high dune to watch the sunset from there).
We will end the day with dinner at the hotel.

DAY 4: Sahara desert – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

Marrakech - Early risers can enjoy one of the most unforgettable moments of their stay in the Sahara: the sunrise, a spectacle of light and silence that will leave a lasting impression. After breakfast, we will return to Marrakech, passing through Rissani, the city of Moulay Ali Chrif, where we can purchase the most famous spices of the South. We will arrive in Marrakech at approximately 7:30 p.m.
