Day 1: Marrakech - Imi Oughlad - Tizi n’Tachte - Tiziane
Marrakech - Begin the day with an early morning departure from Marrakech, enjoying a delightful drive towards the southern region.

Day 1: Marrakech - Imi Oughlad - Tizi n’Tachte - Tiziane
Marrakech - Begin the day with an early morning departure from Marrakech, enjoying a delightful drive towards the southern region.
Moulay Brahim - As the journey progresses through the scenic Moulay Brahim Gorge and upper valleys, the stunning peaks of the Western High Atlas Mountains become visible.
Imlil - The trailhead starts at Imi Oughlad (1450m), where the experienced Berber muleteer crew is met.
The trek begins in a northwest direction, ascending along switchback mule tracks for about 2 hours, passing through cornfields, pine forests, and juniper trees. The trail leads to the Tizi n’Tachete pass (2000m), offering panoramic views of the Imlikl and Ait Oussaden valleys. After a brief rest, the hike continues for another half hour to reach Imi n’Ifri, where a field picnic is enjoyed amidst natural beauty.
High Atlas Mountains - A leisurely 2.5-hour hike southwest follows, along a dirt track that leads along the Assif n’Ait Oussaden river to the terraced village of Tiziane (1750m). Here, comfortable accommodations in a bivouac or gite await, ready for rest and rejuvenation for the next day’s adventure.
Day 2: Tiziane - Tizi n’Taghrhourte - D’knt
High Atlas Mountains - After a hearty breakfast, the hike begins along the picturesque Assif n’Ait Oussaden valley. Passing through walnut groves, the ascent towards the Tizi n’Taghrhourte pass (1995m) is made before reaching a rare, almost flat stretch. The serene atmosphere is enjoyed upon arrival at Assaka spring, where a refreshing field picnic is taken after approximately 2 hours of relatively easy walking.
High Atlas Mountains - In the afternoon, the hike continues along the forest edges, gradually descending until reaching the Berber village of D’knt (1870m) or Agouns n’Assoul. Here, a delicious dinner is enjoyed, and the night is spent in a cozy bivouac or gite, immersing in the warmth and hospitality of the local community.
Day 3: D’knt - Tizi n’Tagdalte - Tizi Oussem
High Atlas Mountains - The morning begins with a 3-hour hike through picturesque groves of walnut trees, fields of corn and barley, and encounters with local shepherds tending to their sheep and goats. The ascent of the Tizi n’Tagdalte pass is followed by a descent through enchanting juniper trees until reaching a serene small spring nestled among the greenery. Here, a delightful picnic is enjoyed, surrounded by nature’s beauty.
Tizi Oussem - After refreshing, the journey continues, descending along winding tracks that traverse the upper slopes for approximately 3 hours. Along the way, a small river is crossed at the beginning of the Assif n’Ait Oussaden valley. As the journey progresses, the village of Tizi Oussem (1850m) is entered, followed by an ascent to the summer village of Tamsoult, where camp is set up or accommodation is found in a gite.
Day 4: Azib Tamsoult - Tizi M’zzik - Imlil
Imlil - The day begins with a trek to a small waterfall located at Azib Tamsoult, allowing for admiration of its beauty before starting the return journey. The Tizi ‘n Mzik pass is then crossed, situated at an elevation of 2,500m. As this pass is traversed, breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes are enjoyed.
Marrakech - Following the pass, the main Toubkal valley at Imlil (1,900m) is joined, where a well-deserved lunch is enjoyed. Afterward, farewell is bid to the mountains, and the drive back to the vibrant city of Marrakech is made.
