Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi N’tichka – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate - Dades.
Marrakech - Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Marrakech at 7:30 AM, embarking on a journey to Ait Benhaddou via the high Atlas Mountains, traversing the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260m). Visitors will explore the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, the tour proceeds to Ouarzazate, with a photo stop near the Atlas film studios, followed by a panoramic view of the Kasbah of Taourirt in the city center. The day concludes with a drive to Boumalne du Dades for an overnight stay, including dinner at the hotel.
Tizi n Tichka - The first stop is at the Tizi N Tichka viewpoint (2260m), the highest point in the Atlas Mountains accessible by car, offering panoramic views of the stunning landscape and Berber villages.
Ait Ben Haddou - By midday, the tour arrives at the renowned fortified city of Ait Ben Haddou, a former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. A local official guide will lead a tour around the kasbah. The Ksar of Aït-Ben-Haddou is a remarkable example of southern Moroccan architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has served as a backdrop for numerous Hollywood productions, including The Mummy, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Babel, Game of Thrones, Vikings, and many more.
Boumalne Dades - The journey continues through the scenic canyons of Boumalne Dades, passing the Valley of Roses and arriving at local accommodations in the Gorges Dades Valley. A traditional dinner will be accompanied by the rhythmic sounds of Berber drums.
Boumalne Dadès - Tinghir - Todgha Gorge - Arfoud - Merzouga - Erg Chebbi
Todgha Gorge - After an early breakfast in the Dades Gorges area, the tour proceeds to the Todgha canyons, navigating the multi-colored walls of the gorges. The Todra Gorge is one of the world’s most impressive canyons, with rock formations reaching up to 500 meters and extending 160 km (100 mi) from Ouarzazate to the east of Tineghir. The winding roads offer breathtaking views of the gorge and historic kasbahs. After a locally made lunch amidst the massive rocky cliffs, the journey continues past old Berber villages, stopping at major viewpoints to admire the majestic landscapes. There is also an opportunity to explore the beautiful oasis in Tinghir. The tour then proceeds through the red-colored walls of ancient valleys, known as the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.
Merzouga Desert - The following day, the tour travels through the Dades Valley and Todra Gorges, exploring the region’s sights. Lunch can be enjoyed at any restaurant along the way. The day’s final destination is Merzouga, where guests will meet camels to take them to the Dunes of Erg Chebbi for an overnight stay at a Berber desert camp.
Erg Chebbi (Merzouga) - Marrakech
High Atlas Mountains - Guests will enjoy an early sunrise camel ride at Erg Chebbi before meeting their guide. The return journey to Marrakech passes through the volcanic landscapes of the Anti Atlas Mountains to the village of Nkob. In Ouarzazate, guests may request a stop at the film studios. Lunch can be taken at leisure in the city center. In the early afternoon, the drive continues across the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi Ntichka pass. The private 3-day desert trip from Merzouga to Marrakech concludes in Marrakech City by mid-afternoon, following an 8-hour drive.
