Marrakech to Toubkal Refuge

Marrakech to Toubkal Refuge

Aremd - Accompanied by the guide, the group travels along mule trails through the village of Armed at 1,850 meters, heading towards Marabout Sidi Chamharouch at 2,350 meters. This site is a popular pilgrimage destination for those seeking spiritual healing, also known as the Sultan of the Devil. Here, a delightful lunch prepared by the chef is enjoyed. The journey continues to the refuge, offering stunning views of the Atlas Mountains. After a traditional tea break at Imi n’Tifrite, the group arrives at the refuge, passing by the corrals of Isgan n’Wagouts. The Neltner refuge of the Alpino Frances Club, situated at 3,207 meters, provides private room accommodations for the night. (4 to 5 hours of walking)
Toubkal Refuge to Marrakech via Toubkal Peak
Toubkal - An early start at four in the morning is necessary to begin the ascent. The initial climb leads to the Akhbi n’Tizi pass, located to the left of the refuge at 3,700 meters. From there, a gentle ascent through a wide channel reaches the Toubkal pass at 3,950 meters, where a spectacular sunrise may be witnessed. The ascent continues along the Toubkal Ridge to the summit at 4,167 meters. After three and a half hours of hiking, there is a break to rest, enjoy a picnic, capture photos of the breathtaking views of the Atlas mountain range, green valleys, and Berber villages, and take in the panoramic vistas over Djbel Siroura at 3,500 meters, known as the desert gate.
Imlil - The descent back to the refuge takes less than two hours, followed by a rest and further descent to Marabout Sidi Chamharouch at 2,350 meters. This revered site is frequented by pilgrims seeking spiritual healing. Here, the team awaits with tea and a rejuvenating meal. After resting, the group continues the descent to Imlil, followed by a transfer back to Marrakech.
