• Pacoche Wildlife Refuge - Start times will be adjusted according to the ship’s arrival. The first stop is a visit to the lush Pacoche rainforest. Nestled in a humid microclimate, this national park is home to a vast array of birds, monkeys, and various local wildlife. A guide will collaborate with a local resident to highlight all the fascinating sights and sounds. The walk lasts 2 hours, with the first hour being quite easy, mostly on level terrain with some steps featuring bamboo railings. The second half is slightly more challenging as it involves traversing rocky terrain and local deer tracks along and across small streams. Feet are likely to get wet here. Those less inclined to adventure can turn back at the halfway point and meet the group at the finish point on the bus.
• Playa San Lorenzo - Renowned as a breeding ground for sea turtles, during the winter months, visitors can often witness the eggs hatching and the baby turtles making their way to the surf. They will return 40 years later upon reaching breeding age.
