Baliati Zamindari, Manikganj
Baliati Palace - Journey: Departure from the hotel towards the Palace, approximately a 2-hour drive.
Attraction: Gobinda Ram Shaha, a salt merchant, founded the zamindari at Baliati. He expanded his inherited business and established the zamindari. The site features seven palaces, covering about 5.88 acres (23,800 m2) of land, surrounded by a moat and a boundary wall. The premises include around 200 rooms and a pond at the rear. In the late 18th century, Zamindar Harendra Kumar Roy Chowdhury sold parts of the Narayanganj Zamindari to Sreemoti Alladi BiBi and her husband, Zamindar Rahim Bakhsh Haji. Since 1987, the Bangladesh Archaeological Department has managed the palaces. After the 1947 partition, the ancestors relocated to India.
Time: Approximately 2-3 hours to explore the palace.

Mohera Jomidar Bari - Travel: Approximately 1 hour travel time to reach this location.
The zamindar house was established in Mirzapur, Tangail, in 1890 by Kali Charan Saha. Kali Charan Saha and Anand Saha, brothers from Calcutta, settled in Mohera village. Besides their land ownership, they engaged in jute and salt trading. They owned extensive land properties across Bangladesh. During the country’s division and war, most relocated to India, with only a few remaining in Tangail. Known for their wealth, they reportedly built these structures before establishing their Zamindari. During the Bangladesh Liberation War, the Pakistan Army attacked the Mohera zamindar’s house, killing five villagers, including the zamindar’s wife (1971). The zamindar family later fled the country by boat on the Lohajang River. The Mukti Bahini camp was established here.
Jamuna Multi-Purpose Bridge - On the journey to Bagura, the group will pass the Bangabandhu Bridge, enjoying the scenic Jamuna River and surrounding nature. A short break in the open air is possible. The bridge, also known as the Jamuna Multi-purpose Bridge, opened in Bangladesh in June 1998. It connects Bhuapur on the Jamuna River’s east bank to Sirajganj on the west bank. It was the 11th longest bridge globally when constructed in 1998 and is currently the 6th longest in South Asia. The Jamuna River, which it spans, is one of Bangladesh’s three major rivers and ranks fifth worldwide in discharge volume.
Momo Inn Park & Resort - From Mohera Zamindar Bari to the hotel MOMOINN, Bogura (5-star) or equivalent, it will take around 4 hours by private air-conditioned vehicle. Considering road traffic and a lunch break, the estimated check-in time at the hotel is around 7 PM.
Mahasthangarh, Bagura
Mahasthangarh - Attraction: Mahasthan signifies a place of great sanctity, and garh means fort. Mahasthan was first mentioned in a 13th-century Sanskrit text titled Vallalcharita. It is also referenced in an anonymous text, Karatoya Mahatmya, likely from the 12th–13th century. The same text mentions two other names for the location – Pundrakshetra, land of the Pundras, and Pundranagara, city of the Pundras. In 1685, an administrative decree referred to the place as Mastangarh, a blend of Sanskrit and Persian meaning fortified place of an auspicious personage. Subsequent discoveries confirmed the earlier name was Pundranagara or Paundravardhanapura, now known as Mahasthangarh. Francis Buchanan Hamilton first located and visited Mahasthangarh in 1808, followed by C.J.O’Donnell, E.V.Westmacott, and Beveridge. Alexander was the first to identify the site, visiting in 1879.

Kusumba Mosque - A 2-hour journey by private vehicle is required to reach this site.
History: Construction of the mosque began in 1558 and concluded in 1559, as indicated by an inscription on its exterior. During this period, Bangladesh was under a series of Afghan rulers. The Kusumba mosque was constructed under one of the last Suri rulers, Ghiyasuddin Bahadur Shah, with oversight by a high-ranking official named Sulaiman. Although built during the Suri rule, the mosque’s architectural style was not influenced by earlier Suri architecture of North India. Instead, it followed the style of other Bangladeshi mosques. The Kusumba Mosque later inspired other mosques in Bangladesh and Myanmar.

History: Initially, Puthia was a village in Laskarpur Pargana, named after Laskar Khan Nilamber, the brother of Puthia’s first zamindar, who was the first to receive the title of Raja from Mughal Emperor Jahangir. In 1744, the estate was partitioned among four co-sharers, with the panch ani (five annas) and char ani (four annas) co-shares becoming notable in managing the zamindari.
After the visit, the group will head back to Dhaka, aiming to drop guests at their hotel by afternoon.
