Great river cruise - Great river cruise - brilliant stop off at where the sea (warm) meets the river (cold). Basic but delish lunch, lovely friendly staff. The stop at the market was a bit too long (2 hours) was the only draw back

To recommend - We were picked up relatively on time at the agreed time and the food was really delicious! (Chicken, with something similar to couscous and salad) Drinks cost extra and with a parrot you could also have pictures taken. 😅
This boat tour was made on a pirate ship. With that we went briefly to sea and back again. The shuttle finally continued to the bazaars: first the indoor bazaar with fixed prices, finally Manavgat bazaar and the waterfalls.
Overall worth a recommendation. 🙂
I have only one thing to complain about: 20 minutes at the falls I found a bit too short.

Thank goodness for a good sense of humour - We were picked up from our hotel on time at 7am and it took just over an hour to collect others from various hotels. We stopped on the way to the boat for about 15mins to use the loos and grab a coffee and pastry. The boat was based on a pirate ship and reasonably clean with a covered area to get into the shade if you needed to. We were immediately approached by a guy with an iguana for what I assume was for a photo opportunity which we refused. There was also a macaw parrot that was being offered up for photos too. We set off up the river for about 20 minutes before going out to sea. We were at sea for 15 mins before turning back up the river to where we stopped at a spot for swimming for an hour. This was apparently paradise 😂. We followed worn carpeted paths to an area with sun beds which had seen better days. The beach was full of litter and the wooden structures were dilapidated and there was a mound of what looked like old carpets and broken furniture. There was also a camel that tourists could pay to ride for about 100m up the beach and back. Not quite how I envision paradise! We then returned to the boat for lunch of chicken, couscous and cabbage salad which was lovely. After lunch we headed back up the river to our bus where we headed to an indoor bazaar. Not on the itinerary and I suspect, due to being issued a wristband before entering, the tour guide/company get commission for. This had priced fake designer goods in well laid out rows. The majority of which was menswear. We stayed here for about an hour before leaving to the waterfalls. We were only given 20 mins at the falls which is a shame as it is such a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a coffee or ice-cream. We then went to the outdoor market and given an hour which wasn’t enough time and felt rushed.
All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this trip. I can’t set aside my dismay at the poor animal welfare aspect after seeing the tiny carriers the iguanas were shoved into for what would have been hours and the poor condition of the parrot and camel.
The state of the beach that would not have taken much to clean up and then to have to endure the bus driver smoking and using his mobile phone on the long drive back.
Thankfully we can laugh about bad travel experiences!

Avoid this promised trip of “paradise” - Be patient. Read until the end. And don’t waste your money!
We were collected at 7am from our hotel. Nice comfortable bus. We then spent nearly 2 hours collecting lots of other guests until we arrived at our boat. As soon as we got on the boat we were hassled by the staff to interact with their parrot and reptiles. One of the staff picked up the Iguana by the tail and the poor thing was left dangling. The poor thing looks startled with hands and armed outstretched as if it was terrified of falling. He continued to walk around the boat with it swinging in his arms. We confronted him as he was pestering us to stroke it. He soon walked away when he could see how unhappy we were of this mistreatment.
We then took a very short river trip out to sea. Turned around and came back to the shore where we had to get off and “enjoy” the beach which was described as paradise. It was more like a shanty town. The beach area was full of rubbish, plastic bottles, broken furniture and dishevelled huts. It was far from paradise. Why would a tour such as this one include a trip to a beach? Every tourist on that boat had probably just come from a hotel with a pool that is also close to a beach. And a beach as bad as this one! We got back on the boat. Lunch was tasty. In fact this was the best part of the day. We had chicken, cous cous and salad. We then cruised for 10 mins and that was the end of that. A pathetic advertisement for a boat trip! We went to an indoor bazaar. Fixed price. It wasn’t on the itinerary and we suspected the tour guide was getting something out of it as we were all given bands to identify us when we bought something. One hour later, back on the bus to the waterfalls. We were given 20 mins and then back on the bus to the outdoor market. The planned itinerary. Our guide suggested 45 mins. We agreed one hour. Lovely market for those that love shopping. Lots of clothes, shoes, etc and fresh veg and spices. Quite a few coffee shops too. Then the 2 hour drive back. All going well until our driver starts texting, calling, sending voice notes on his mobile whilst driving. Apparently it’s prohibited in Turkey! As well as putting passengers at risk. We were the final 2 guests for the latter part of the journey and then our driver starts smoking. Obviously we weren’t important enough to be considered despite us not being 8 minutes from our drop off.
Our guide didn’t seem to offer any service. In fact I wondered what the point of his role is for the day!
Very unhappy with this trip
