Start of the Journey
Meeting of Waters - At 8:00 AM, guests are picked up from their hotel to commence their Amazon Jungle Tour from Manaus. They are transferred to the Ceasa port, where the group boards a speedboat to navigate the Rio Negro towards the floating village of Catalão. A stop is made at a floating house with a fish farm for the Giant Arapaima Gigas, the largest scaled fish in the world. Visitors have the chance to observe and feed these impressive fish, experiencing their strength firsthand. After the fish farm visit, the journey continues by speedboat to the Meeting of the Waters, where the Rio Negro and the Solimões River converge. The tour proceeds to Careiro Village on the opposite side of the Solimões River. From there, the group travels by car or van for about an hour to Maçarico Lake, then continues by speedboat, arriving at the lodge around 11:30 AM. Lunch is served at noon.
At 2:30 PM, activities commence as the group departs by motorized boat to the first jungle campsite for an overnight stay. After dinner, a boat excursion is taken for caiman spotting, followed by an overnight stay at the camp.
Camping in the Forest
Juma Floating Lodge (Pousada Do Nilson) - At 5:30 AM, a canoe trip is organized to witness the sunrise and observe the forest awakening to a new day. Breakfast is served at 7:00 AM, followed by a jungle hike starting at 8:00 AM and concluding at 11:30 AM. During the hike, the guide shares valuable insights about the forest, including information on medicinal plants, spiders, trees, and the possibility of spotting monkeys.
The afternoon activity begins at 3:00 PM with canoeing in the flooded forest and small channels. This is an excellent opportunity to explore and learn about the flora and fauna of the magnificent Amazon jungle and to fish for piranhas, as the local Amazonian people do. The group returns to camp, and at night, a boat excursion with a spotlight is conducted to observe nocturnal wildlife.
Camping in the Jungle
Juma Floating Lodge (Pousada Do Nilson) - The group spends these days camping in the forest, engaging in activities such as spear fishing at night to catch their own food, trekking through various parts of the forest, canoeing, camping in different locations, and visiting local homes. The highlight of this tour is acquiring survival techniques in the forest.
On the final day, the group returns to the lodge around 11:00 AM. After lunch at 1:30 PM, the group departs for Manaus, arriving in the city at approximately 4:30 PM.
