Day 1
Manaure - On this 3-day adventure, our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Santa Marta and take you on a drive of less than 3 hours to the first stop: Riohacha, the capital of La Guajira. Day 1
Manaure - On this 3-day adventure, our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Santa Marta and take you on a drive of less than 3 hours to the first stop: Riohacha, the capital of La Guajira. This area is home to indigenous communities from the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta (a mountain range that extends into the La Guajira department) as well as the Wayuu people, the largest indigenous group in the country. In fact, as soon as we arrive in La Guajira, it will be common to encounter them, as they live throughout the desert.
In addition to visiting Riohacha, we will explore Manaure, known for its traditional sea salt extraction methods. After touring Manaure, you will head to Uribia, the capital of the Wayuu.
Day 2
Punta Gallinas - On the second day, you will visit Honda and Hondita Bay (which means deep) and then be taken to Punta Gallinas, the northernmost point in Colombia and South America. The landscapes and views of the Caribbean coast here are exceptional and unique.
Day 3
Dunas de Taroa - On the final day of this journey, you will enjoy some beach time at the Taroa dunes, where you can walk down the dune directly to the water and try sandboarding if you wish. The Taroa Dunes are the only Caribbean dunes in Latin America.
Day 4
Santa Marta - After three days of enjoying the enchanting surroundings of Cabo de La Vela and Punta Gallinas, we will finally return to Santa Marta on the fourth day.
