• Blue Grotto (Il-Hnejja) - No matter the season, a boat journey through these stunning caves is an unforgettable experience. The exceptionally clear blue waters, due to a unique mineral composition, offer unparalleled visibility. On sunny days, vibrant pink, orange, turquoise, and green hues reflect off the water onto the limestone cave walls, creating a magical display. From the cliffs above, the caves are framed by a grand arch, with clear views of the island of Filfla, making it a truly breathtaking sight.

• Valletta - Often likened to an open-air museum and a living historical artifact, Valletta’s streets and attractions invite exploration and admiration. The city is adorned with Baroque architecture at every turn, and numerous historical buildings await discovery. Despite its compact size of just 1km by 600m, Europe’s southernmost capital is rich in historical landmarks. UNESCO recognized Valletta as “one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world” when it was designated a World Heritage Site. Valletta is home to some of Europe’s finest artworks, churches, and palaces.

• Marsaxlokk - Marsaxlokk is a quaint, traditional fishing village in Malta’s South Eastern Region. Known for its scenic harbor, fishing heritage, and history, it is a popular tourist destination. As a bustling fishing town, Marsaxlokk is unsurprisingly the best place in Malta for fresh seafood. The village promenade, overlooking the harbor, is lined with many well-loved restaurants.

• Dingli Cliffs - Located on Malta’s western coast near the charming village of Dingli, these cliffs offer sweeping coastal views from 253 meters above sea level. Locals cherish this spot where the sky meets the sea, as it is the highest point on the Maltese Islands. The cliffs provide stunning vistas of the Mediterranean Sea, terraced fields, and the small uninhabited island of Filfla. Along the cliffs, a lovely chapel dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene sits at the edge. A longer hike leads to another breathtaking location, the Blue Grotto. Watching the sunset over the blue sea is a magical experience.

• Mdina - Mdina, the Old Capital City, captivates with its timeless beauty behind fortified walls, enchanting nobility for 4,000 years. Its narrow, cobbled streets exude mystery, transporting visitors back in time. Known by various names throughout history, Mdina showcases a remarkable blend of baroque and medieval architecture, with beautifully preserved churches, grand palaces, and fortified walls, turning this silent city into an outdoor museum.

• Mosta Rotunda - Mosta is famous for its enormous rotunda church, boasting the third-largest dome in the Christian world. In 1942, a 200kg bomb fell through the dome without exploding, miraculously sparing the 300 people attending mass. A replica of the bomb is displayed inside the church.

• Three Cities - Vittoriosa, Senglea, and Cospicua, collectively known as the Three Cities of Malta, are vibrant historical communities preserved over centuries. These neighborhoods are welcoming, with residents who know their neighbors and greet visitors warmly. Gardjola Gardens in Senglea’s bastions offer stunning views of the Grand Harbour, Fort St. Angelo, and the Inquisitor’s Palace with its restored rooms. The Birgu waterfront is a delightful place to enjoy a meal and admire luxurious yachts.

• Hagar Qim Temples - The Megalithic Temples of Malta, built during the 4th millennium BC, are among the world’s earliest free-standing stone structures, notable for their diverse forms and decorations. Situated on a vast plain near the village of Qrendi, these archaeological treasures were used for worshiping a fertility goddess and are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
