As I embarked on my journey from the bustling city of Makati to the serene Hundred Islands of Alaminos, Pangasinan, I was filled with a sense of anticipation. The four to five-hour drive was a gentle reminder of the slow, leisurely travels I have always cherished. Upon arrival, the process of registration and preparation at the Tourist Office was a structured affair, reminiscent of the meticulous planning required for a long train journey. With sunscreen applied and a hat perched on my head, I was ready to explore the islands, much like a traveler ready to board a train, ticket in hand, eager for the journey ahead.
