It’s a beautiful and relaxing day out on the water! - Had an amazing day out on Hoppo with Skippy D today. Absolutely loved every minute of it. He was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and passionate about the Gold Coast and its wildlife. From teaching us about cygnets, the baby black swans, through to spotting dolphins and sharing fascinating stories about the history of the Gold Coast, the entire experience was both educational and enjoyable. He even explained how the moon cycles affect the tides, fishing, marine life and the movement of wildlife throughout the Broadwater. It was fascinating hearing how the lunar cycles influence everything from currents and tidal flow through to fish feeding patterns and dolphin activity. You can really tell when someone genuinely loves what they do and wants others to appreciate the beauty and history of our local waterways. The Gold Coast waterways are home to an incredible marine ecosystem. Bottlenose dolphins are regularly seen throughout the Broadwater and surrounding canals, and the region supports hundreds of bird species including pelicans, black swans, sea eagles and migratory shorebirds. The Gold Coast also has more than 600 kilometres of navigable waterways, which is actually greater than the canals of Venice, making it one of the largest canal based cities in the world. Tourism contributes billions of dollars annually to the Gold Coast economy and experiences like this remind you exactly why people from all over Australia and the world fall in love with this place. Hopo from Surfers to Seaworld - Trent was an awesome skipper. Great knowledge of the GC, told us things we didnt know which is a little embarrasing as long time locals. A great way to fill in some time on the water.

A thousand thank yous - I will be eternally grateful to the ferry operator for turning the ferry back and docking again after I explained I had left my iPhone behind in the toilets which were near the boarding point. Luckily, my phone was still there. My faith in human nature has been restored. PS: The cruise was excellent and informative even whilst it was pouring with rain!

Best way to explore Gold Coast - We absolutely loved our day on the ferry! We started at Broadwater Parklands and took it to Sea World, where we had a quick dip in the ocean and then walked the Federation Walk to The Spit, definitely worth the effort. Later, we continued to the Marina and admired the yachts. After that, we stopped at HOTA, went for a swim in the lake, and visited the gallery – the view from the top floor is amazing! Our last stop was Surfers Paradise, where we enjoyed some beach time and did a bit of shopping before heading back to Broadwater Parklands. We really think the ferry offers some of the best views of the Gold Coast skyline and waterfront homes. The captain also shared some interesting facts about the area, which made the ride even more enjoyable.

Tour was good, driver needs better manners - The tour is nice, the hop on hop off is convenient. My first driver was a bit rude, but the driver that took over in the afternoon was better. I asked the first driver a question as to a point of interest and he answered me as if I should have already known. Excuse me, this was my first time in Australia. He seemed to be pleasant with others but virtually ignored me…disappointing.
