Nairobi- Longonot National Park
Mount Longonot National Park - Enthusiastic hill climbers and those seeking breathtaking views should seize the chance to ascend to the rim of Longonot (2886 m) in the Rift Valley. This relatively young, dormant volcano maintains the classic shape of such mountains, though it is not a perfect cone.
Begin the journey from Nairobi early in the morning. Pause at the Rift Valley Viewpoint to marvel at the wonders that earn it the name “The Great Rift Valley.” Observe the Loita Plains before continuing to Mt. Longonot for a 5-hour hike around the crater and back down to the Gate. The ascent is steep, so it’s advisable to wear comfortable hiking shoes, light clothing, and bring drinking water. The hike offers an incredible experience from the top at the crater. There is an opportunity to spot various wildlife, including plain zebras, giraffes, African leopards, and hartebeests, which are often elusive.
Conclude the day by checking in at the permanent tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Longonot National Park- Hell’s Gate National Park
Hell’s Gate National Park - After breakfast, set off in the morning for Hell’s Gate. The morning is ideal for hiking along the park’s towering cliffs. Leave the vehicle at a designated point, which will follow behind in case you need a rest. Begin by walking on the well-marked trails. After several kilometers, arrive at the biking center where you can ride bikes to the rock climbing starting point. Cycling offers a thrilling adventure as you pedal for seven kilometers before resting at the Rangers post. While walking and biking, you can spot animals grazing in the wild, such as zebras, gazelles, and giraffes. After a rest, embark on a walking safari adventure lasting approximately 3 hours. Enjoy the stunning views of the gorges, discover the hot springs, then walk back to retrieve the bikes and cycle back to the vehicle’s location. Finally, drive back to Nairobi.
