Well Worth It – Great Tour, Great Guide, and a Beautiful Beach Experience - Pick up at the pier was on time, we had difficulty finding it through the maze of stores. Our Costa Maya Chacchoben Mayan Ruins & Mexican Lunch at the Beach was worth it! Carlos, our tour guide was funny and informative. Our driver, Victor took us to the beach for lunch and swimming at a very nice resort and with a nice beach. The food was very good. I would recommend this excursion.

Great safe guided tour!!!! - Our driver Nelson was very safe when driving the narrow road. Our guide was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the ruins and area along the way! Very easy to understand and approachable. We were taken to the beach for about an hour and a half after the guided tour, where we had the chance to be on the beach, eat, or walk around town to shop. Highly recommended!!!!

Tucan tour from our ship I would highly recommend they are outside the main port - Mary was our tour guide on this pool. She was very informative and made us on a very good tour. Javier was our bus driver and very reliable and waited for everybody and I counted for everybody to make sure they’re on the bus. It was a very good tour. 5 1/2 hour tour on the food at the Playa so good we had the shrimp tacos. They were like $12. For 3 They were very fresh and delicious

Ruins and lunch! - This tour was good once we figured out were to go. I'd not done a tour not booked thru the cruiseline before and hadn't paid close attention to the fact that I needed to look for Tucan Tours and not Viator at the port. Once we found the group, the tour guide, JC, was good and I could hear and understand him. He was great at telling us exactly what to expect and where we need to be. We were also provided bottled water. Lunch was good. I wish we could have had more time at the beach.

Good. Nothing exceptional. - Our excursion was good. We saw the Mayan ruins, we say monkeys at the ruins, we tried mango and pineapple with tajin from a road stand, we went to the beach and had lunch and all in all it was fine. The guides were fine the beach and food were fine the ruins were neat but think improvements to the experience could be made like having authentic food there or Mayan impersonation or an inside building with some exhibits like what they wore how they cooked idk we saw what we came to see and it was fine. Next time I’d probably spend the money to go to Chichin Itza or something. All in all very ok.

Skip the beach, just stick with Chacchoben tour - The pre departure process was smooth right from meeting location at the cruise port and the transport to where the Toucan Tour office is located. We were provided cold refreshments and we boarded a nice Mercedes Sprinter van to the ruins. It took an hour to get there and we were greeted by our tour guide Carlos upon arrival and we toured the place for an hour. Carlos was really an awesome tour guide and we really had a blast at Chacchoben ruins. Now things got really interesting with this lunch at the beach combo as it turned out to be nightmare. Our driver took us to Mazamao restaurant at Mahahual fishing village. Please note you can only have 1 food selection and 2 drinks. Their service was awful. The manager was smoking inside the restaurant. The appetizer chip was terrible, my beef fajita was undercooked and minimally portioned. The 2 mango margaritas that I ordered didn’t have any kick and also smaller portion. One of our orders arrived 30 minutes later and yet they were quick to place the tip jar on each table for gratuity. We were only given 1.5 hrs to eat there so some scrambled to get a massage or soaked at the beach. It wasn’t relaxing at all thus I would recommend just sticking to the Mayan ruins tour and skip the beach as it definitely not worth the extra price.

Just Average, would try something else - Pre-Communication was poor. We did not know exactly when and where to meet and did not hear from provider ahead of time. Had to e-mail but did not receive a response until an hour before meeting time which was incorrect time. Bus needed repair. Cockroaches and water in the windows. Tour was just so-so. Lunch was very minimal 1 quesadilla or 2 small tacos. Drinks were small as well. Not enough time for both beach and lunch.

Go on a different tour - Wouldn't recommend. Tour guy didn't talk about the mayans. Learned more by listening to other tours guides.
