Tapas & Wine Tour with Ava — A Madrid Must - Unforgettable Tapas & Wine Tour with Ava — A Madrid Must! We had an incredible experience on the Madrid Tapas and Wine Tasting Tour with Ava from Gourmet Madrid Tours, and we can’t recommend it highly enough! Ava was the perfect guide — warm, knowledgeable, and full of fascinating stories that brought the city to life. Over the course of four carefully selected stops, we sampled a delicious variety of local wines and traditional tapas — each place had its own charm, and Ava made sure we understood the history and culture behind what we were tasting. From cozy family-run taverns to historic local favorites, every venue added something special to the night. What made this tour truly exceptional was Ava’s storytelling. She wove in rich historical context — from Spain’s literary giants to famous hotels that once hosted matadors and bohemians — all while keeping things light and engaging. She answered every question thoughtfully and really made everyone in the group feel included and welcomed. This was more than a food tour — it was a deep dive into Madrid’s heart and soul, all while enjoying some of the best food and wine the city has to offer. Thank you, Ava and Gourmet Madrid Tours — you made our night in Madrid unforgettable!

Perfect day - Had the pleasure of taking the Ribera de Duero tour today with Ismael. Visited 3 separate wineries which weee all fantastic but also very different. Enjoyed the wines at each place and learned about why the wines from this region are some of the best in Spain. Guide Ismael was fantastic, and enjoyed the fellow guests on the trip. He was able to the both the Spanish and English travelers equally engaged. One of the highlights of our trip to Spain. It was a day well-spent.

Great option for visiting wineries outside of Madrid - Muna was a great driver and guide, taking us to 3 very different wineries showing the breadth of wine-making in the region. The vehicle was comfortable, the wines excellent, and lunch tasty. Highly recommended tour.

An unforgettable experience! - What a fantastic tour of the Ribero del Duero region. Ismael was super knowledgable and gave our group a lot of information about the history of wine and the different wineries. We visited three wineries with very different characteristics. It was a really balanced selection starting with a newer, experimental winemaker (my favorite!) to a more established winery, then a historic winery with many, original underground cellars. We never felt rushed and took our time at each winery. Would highly recommend this tour!

Great day for wine lovers - This tour and our guide were fantastic. Each winery had a totally different vibe, so it felt like we got a great overview of the different types of wineries in the region (large scale, small scale, old and rich tradition). The day of our tour was the day Spain had a nationwide power outage, and our guide Ishmael handled everything like an absolute pro. He was able to find us lunch at a restaurant that cooked over wood fire, and kept all of our winery appointments - including a cave tour by flashlight! He also was so kind in trying to help us get back to our hotel after the drop off in Madrid. We're so grateful for his assistance and for the wonderful day he led for us!

Best wine tour ever! - Be prepared for an exceptional experience. This was perhaps one of the best wine tours we have ever participated in. We were in the wine business for 13 years and went on many winery visits. Ishmael, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and made our trip to the Ribero Del Duero area seamless. We visited three wineries and had a minimum of three wines to taste at each one. This wine region has always been one of my favorites and this tour certainly did not disappoint. All of the wineries offered food for us to enjoy while tasting the wines. Every winery was unique in its own right. The first winery was a new startup. They have been in business since 2018 and their red wines were just coming into their own. The second winery was a beautiful state of the art facility. Before visiting the last winery, we stopped at a small town for a delicious tapas lunch. The third winery was the oldest winery and the most fascinating. There are a series of tunnels that run several kilometers underground. The winery itself dates back many centuries. This is a must do side trip if you’re planning on traveling to Madrid. It was worth every penny.
