• Royal Palace of Madrid - The Royal Palace of Madrid, also referred to as the Palace of Oriente and known as the National Palace during the Second Spanish Republic, serves as the official residence of the King of Spain. It is situated in Madrid, the capital of Spain, and spans an impressive 135,000 m² with 4,318 rooms.

This grand palace was constructed on the site of the former Royal Alcázar of Madrid, which was destroyed by a three-day fire in 1734. The construction commenced on April 6, 1738, with the laying of the first stone, under the direction of architect Giovanni Battista Sacchetti.

Although the Royal Palace of Madrid is still the official residence of the King of Spain, it is primarily used for gala events, luncheons, official receptions, award ceremonies, and audiences. The Royal Family resides in the more modest Zarzuela Palace.
