Great and interesting tour - Our guide Annada? was great. Very nice, informative, and easy to talk to. We walked around areas of Madrid that were quite special and it was easy to get back to the starting point/hotel/other places.

Brilliant time learning & walking - Entertaining and educational tour with our guide Daniel who was extremely enthusiastic for his subject. The tour was at a good pace and we learnt a lot about the inquisition. There were parts of the city we hadn't seen before.
Definitely recommend if you're into history and anything spooky.

Outstanding Intro to Madrid - Eneida, our guide ( and actress by profession) gave us an outstanding tour of old-town Madrid & its history. Very thorough explanations of the Spanish Inquisition, mixed with local legends & humor. Such a treat!

Memorable rainy night tour with Violeta - Having worked as a tour guide and conducted my own tours, I very much value the experience of going on a tour for a memorable experience of a place that will live on long after getting home. That experience is conveyed through the person of the guide: their attitude, passion and communication.
Having just a few days in Madrid and one night only when my companions and I could go on a tour together, we booked this tour. I’d circled a few possibilities for a while online, and resolved to go with this particular tour.
We turned up in the Plaza de Provinzia for the allocated time. Given the tour management had been in touch seeking to move the tour day, and the forecast was wet for the evening, I was nervous if the tour would actually go ahead. I had had a completely different tour cancel on me earlier in the day, too (different operator).
Thankfully our guide with a lantern and suitable costume appeared through the rain. We had a small group of 8, from several countries. Made for a great and congenial dynamic. From my own days of tour guiding, dark rainy evenings and a small group made for memorable moments.
Our guide, Violeta, accommodated some last minute needs of some guests. She dealt with the rain with a smile, and sought to get us under cover as much as possible, which is not very much, but she was considerate nonetheless.
She quickly established a rapport with the group, and proceeded to take us on a wiggling route around many dark side streets and some principal tourist hotspots. By virtue of the rain the Plaza Mayor was very quiet and atmospheric. As were the alleys. If your tour has wet weather forecast, stay with it. It actually makes a very suitable ambience for such a tour.
The tour was very much a “Horrible Histories” feel, if you’re familiar with the UK books and TV series, but obviously with a Madrid-centric palette of glorious and inglorious tales to offer.
I particularly enjoyed the tale of Don Juan Echenique, a very striking story with motifs and archetypes shared with historical strange legends. And without giving too much away, learning of Charles II of Spain’s problems, and using that as a hook for ghostly tales of the Royal Palace was stimulating. Much content I will continue to go over, and these in particular will live rent-free in my head for goodness knows how long.
Being a tour guide is very much being an ambassador for the employer and the city. Violeta was a credit to Mysterium Tours and Madrid, giving each of the group a good memory of Madrid and the couple hours in the rain learning of the city’s grim history by the vector of the inquisition, myths and ghosts.

Spanish Inquisition Ghost Tour - Our tour guide was fantastic. We forget her name but she led the march 26 8pm tour in English. We were with our daughter who is here for study abroad. This is a great tour, a mix of creepy and informative about the inquisition.

Daniel the Guide - Daniel a very entertaining and hilarious tour guide that know how to make tour feel like a new one. This is my second time in Madrid and I had to take this tour again and I was lucky enough to get Daniel both times. So if your in doubt about this tour, do it and if your lucky you'll get Daniel as your guide.
