Great tour and great guide - I loved this tour, mainly the story of Maria Calderón. Very pleasant experience and very well explained by NITA, the guide. Friendly, committed and knowledgeable, you asked her about anything on the tour and she could spin with other intertwined stories. I recommend this tour and the company I hired to do it.

More guides like NITA - The Barrio de las Letras Free Tour has been an exceptional experience, and very different from other more traditional tours. What really makes it special is the much-needed and well-worked focus on women writers, often forgotten in Madrid’s literary history. The guide, NITA, has been simply magnificent: close, passionate and with a thorough knowledge of the subject. She has been able to contextualize the period, give voice to invisible authors and connect their stories with the streets, buildings and corners of the neighborhood in a pleasant and very enriching way. It was not just a walk, but a real lesson in history, literature and cultural vindication. You can see the research work behind the tour and the care in each explanation. NITA makes you listen, reflect and enjoy at the same time, keeping the interest throughout the tour. You leave the tour with a new look at the Barrio de las Letras and eager to continue reading and learning. Fully recommended for those who want to know Madrid from a different, fairer and deeply interesting perspective. A must-see tour!
