Book it you won’t regret it! - We had a great morning with Claudio, he’s very warm, super knowledgeable and adaptive. He pre reviewed the weather multiple times and found us the perfect spot for sunrise on what was supposed to be a cloudy day! He also picked us up from our air b and b even though it was out of the way and not on the pick up list. I had done this hike before with him with my friend and enjoyed it so much I thought it would be the perfect experience for me and my partner. The hike is accessible, the scenery is beautiful and the morning hike hugely enjoyable. Highly recommend this experience it’s next to none and gives you the true beauty of Madeira. Thanks again! Excellent hike - Our experience was amazing and our tour guide Cláudio was amazing and knowledge. He guided us along the hike and took excellent pictures and even gave us tips for Lisbon and eating joints at Madeira during Christmas.

Hiking in beautiful Madeira - My son and I had an awesome experience with Claudio. Right from the start he was very knowledgeable, confident and had a great understanding of the hike. We had great conversations and he answered all our questions. He is passionate about what he does and that clearly showed in the engagement. After the hike he provided us a ton of recommendations on other places to explore. I would highly recommend Claudia and would love to come back and hike with him in Madeira.

Worth the early wakeup! - What an amazing hike! We had an early start where Claudio picked us up at the hotel at 5:45 and after a short drive, we got our headlamps on and started our walk. It was a bit trippy not being able to see beyond your spotlit feet and the quiet of the area. The hike itself was more than a casual stroll but completely doable and absolutely worth it. There are stairs, but in spurts, and same for the steep uphill stretches. Right when you want to ask how much more, it evens out for a break. We kept a good pace and for 90% of it, we were completely alone. As we got to the lookout there were maybe 6ish people already there, but spaced out and another 6 or so showed after we arrived. Again, not near us or crowding us. The way back we got to see what we walked through and it was stunning 😍 Claudio had us stop at a few lookout points on the way back where we were able to see different striations across the cliffs. Gorgeous views! We were back at the hotel at 930, plenty of time to catch breakfast 😀. An early wakeup seems odd for a vacation but it is absolutely worth it. Amazing guide and experience! Wear good hiking boots, it's rocky and unstable footing in some areas and bring layers as it's windy up there.

Great guide, hike and views - Great experience hiking Pico Ruivo. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about both the area and Madeira as a whole. Claudio was also extremely helpful during the hike, taking it at our pace. The views from Pico ruivo are stunning and we had an overall wonderful time. Would highly recommend both the hike and hiking island.

Book the tour! - We had an amazing experience with Claudio. He kept in touch with us the night before and all throughout our hike. He also gave us great recommendations. The hike it self was challenging but he made me feel very comfortable and provided head lights and walking sticks. He goes at your pace so you never get lost or feel abandoned. The sense of accomplishment after the hike and seeing the sunrise is like no other. If you’re thinking about doing this tour, don’t think anymore and just book it!

Beautiful Hike, Knowledgeable Guide - Claudio was an exceptionally knowledgeable guide, with a good sense of humour and very pleasant to spend time with. This only made what was a really enjoyable hike in a beautiful setting even more enjoyable. Part of the hike is in the dark, so when you’re hiking back you’re experiencing parts of the trail for the first time. The location for the sunset was very wild and serene - a perfect choice. The hike was strenuous enough to make you feel like you deserved breakfast, but was very manageable and safe. Overall it was a very lovely experience supported by a very professional guide, which made it feel like a full experience.

Great time! Wild how dark... - Great time! Wild how dark it is (you will use headlamps to see on the way out) and how you have literally no idea what is around you until you walk back in the daylight. Really cool experience with great views. Sadly, it was too cloudy to see the sunrise, but the views were still stunning. Great hike with a great guide.
