City Card is great value - City card is great value. We got a “buy one get one half price” deal in the run up to Valentine’s Day that made it even more attractive. Without much effort, we easily covered our costs in the first day of our two day card. Overall, we saved about €55 each. We had the cards delivered to our hotel, and they were very efficiently waiting for us when we arrived. We did a bus tour (nice tour, TERRIBLE English commentary that sounded like it was recorded by AI… who on earth calls Lyon “lions”??), three museums, a silk workshop tour, a turn on the big wheel in the square and some metro/tram trips. Easy to do in two days and the card covers most of the main attractions, as well as transport. More cities should do this.

Use Citi Card in Lyon - The card is truly convenient and cost-effective. Used on public transport a lot, as well as in museums.

A great deal. - A great value for the money. We went to two museums, used the metro and tram and went on the river cruise. The city card worked out great for us!

Perfect! - I was very well advised for organizing my visits over 3 days. the agent who received me showed a lot of patience and kindness. I left with a 72-hour Lyon only pass, ideal for me and very economical considering all the free tours included that I did

Convenient - Highly recommended you save a lot of money and headaches. A handy and practical card. Access to the museums, access to public transport, a boat trip and a tour all in one .

Basic idea perfect, individual events but mau - The basic idea is perfect, use of all TCL means of transport, cost savings on e.g. museums and hop on hop off etc. HOWEVER, the city tour is a horror. Boat trip is ok.

Not worth it - Very hard to do enough travel or visits to make the card cost worth it. Also watch out for attempted scams on the metro if someone tells you the card doesn’t work (it does) and you have to buy a ticket. They’re trying to get you PIN and steal your card.

5 passes over 3 days... - We bought 5 3-day cards over the Internet (there was a small discount): 3 adults and 2 children. We were in Ternay; it's not far from Lyon, but we had to go to the P+R car park in Vénissieux. The pass allows you to travel free of charge by public transport in Lyon, but you had to take a family ticket (€7) to pick up the passes at the tourist office, Place Bellecour. It is a pity that these maps do not allow to use public transport near Lyon. Main criticism: end of July and beginning of August, few guided tours available on our dates. Museum of Contemporary Art and 2 closed Guignol shows, etc...This information is not clearly shown on the presentation on the site that presents the map. In fact the choice of activity is limited! You have to wait in line to get a free ticket to the museums...

If not doing tours skip this card - Don’t recommend this if you aren’t going to take advantage of the tours. It isn’t clearly explained that you have to go pick up a physical card to use the transport. Thanks to generous and kind local folks at the metro we got through the gate when we tried unsuccessfully to scan the QR code we got by email that sounded like the way to use the metro. Repeat difficulty with the Rhone Express airport return, where the conductor didn’t like the QR code that the tourist office person said was all we would need. In retrospect we wished we’d bought the tickets at the kiosks and skipped the city card. We ended up only going to one museum and the priority access was nice.
