Cajamarca to Leymebamba

Sarcophagi of Revash and Kuelap

Fortaleza de Kuelap - 6am Discover the Archaeological site of Mausoleums Revash, showcasing a burial system from the Chachapoyas culture, constructed from wood and mud high on cliffs, adorned with extensive painted decorations.

12pm Take the cable cars to reach the mountain’s summit and visit the most significant and renowned archaeological site of the Chachapoyas culture, consisting of a fortress with over 300 round buildings surrounded by walls more than 19 meters high, made of stone.

Karajía and the Mirador de Huancas

Sarcophagi of Karajia - 7am Visit Karajía, an archaeological site featuring another type of burial system from the Chachapoyas culture. Unlike the mausoleums, these are individual burials made of wood and mud, decorated to resemble a person with a large face.

3pm Visit a viewpoint high on the mountain to see the canyon of the Utcubamba River, an amazing place to enjoy the scenery. This village still preserves its own traditions.

Gocta Waterfall

Catarata de Gocta - 8am. Visit the third highest waterfall in the world, located deep in the jungle. Here, enjoy an 11km hike, with horses available for rent if desired. Ride halfway and walk the rest, enjoying a stroll through the forest.
