What a day! - We had the best day ever with Salwa and Syeead!!! Salwa explained us so many things to know about the temples, the tombs, and the Egyptian culture. She knows so much! We were really impressed by her knowledge and we appreciated a lot that we shared so much with us! She let us take all the time we wanted to visit what we wanted to see, even extra tombs in the valley of the kings. She was generous and enthousiast during the whole day. She even gave us advices and helped us book another tour to Abidos and Denderah. Thank you so much Salwa, you are the best guide we had and you made our day a success!!! And thank you Syeead for driving us everywhere, always with a smile in his face and opening the door for us ^^ Salwa Syeead

Mansuour was great - We went with the guide Mansuour, booked through Deluxe Tours. He studied Egyptian archaeology before guiding and knows the history of the ancient kingdoms very well. His English is excellent and he has an agreeable personality. Highly recommended!

Beautiful private guided tour - Perfect tour in every detail! We booked the tour through get your guide and it is not specified that it is a private tour so it was a very pleasant surprise! (we recommend you make it more understandable for clarity). Our car was modern, clean and air-conditioned, the driver had a pleasant drive and our Salwa guide was nice, considerate and above all very prepared! He told us in detail the story of the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Hatshepsut and the giants of Memnon along with a lot of information about what we saw in the landscape during the drive. The basic ticket for the Valley of the Kings included in the tour includes admission to the site and to three tombs of your choice (among those included in the basic ticket) but our guide Salwa was kind enough to wait for us to also allow us to visit some extra tombs (we paid a few euros more). The Temple of Hatshepsut, although suggestive, is not unique like the Valley of the Kings, but its beauty lies in its history and Salwa was very good at telling us about it! We recommend the tour and recommend Salwa as a guide!:)

Satisfied and what's next - Mahmud was our driver, and the truth was excellent. He arrived very punctual to the meeting point and we started the adventure. The vehicle is in excellent condition, and very clean. He speaks good English and took us to every point of the tour, without pushing us over time at every stop. Additional to that we had very pleasant talk during the journey, either about Egypt or Mexico (which is where we are from). He never tried to take us to places that were not on the tour, but on the contrary, it was up to us if we wanted to make some stop somewhere within the tour to do shopping.

Very pleasant excursion - Family Tour with Two Teenagers book on TripAdvisor. This time to visit, we decided to take a guide. Few French guides available so we take an English guide. The privatized van picks us up from the hotel at 7am as planned. On the way, we pick up Omar who will be our guide for the half day. We begin our journey with the Colossi of Memnon. Then head to the Queen's Temple where we are treated to many historical details by Omar, passionate about ancient Egypt. We stay on site about 2 hours. And finally towards the Valley of the Kings, the explanations are given to us upstream to penetrate the graves. Our guide selects three tombs that he thinks are the best and most interesting to see. We trust him. We trust him. We did not take any additional optional graves. It's time to go home after more than 5 hours of sightseeing. To finish a tip for the guide and the driver. This half day was really interesting and well organized and grounded. The duration was more than enough for everyone, especially as the heat began to make itself felt. We therefore recommend our guide who can be contacted on +20 10 04749288.

Nice visit to the West Bank - Nice tour of West Bank highlights. The tombs you visit changes depending on what's open at that time of year - usually 3 tombs. The lunch was not worth it, and I would pass on the lunch if possible.

Started great, ended up with a sour taste in our mouth (guide ‘in’ on scams) - Our guide, Salwa, was very knowledgeable and explained the history of the tombs and temples very well, as well as offered interesting facts and insights about Egypt and Luxor in general. The car was comfortable and had AC. Where things went downhill were when she took us to two unsanctioned stops that weren’t part of our itinerary: a fancy looking alabaster souvenir shop, and a fancy looking perfume shop. The alabaster shop owner (“Hatshepsut for Alabaster”) Abdul first explained how they make the alabaster items. There are some staff working outside that demonstrate this to you (they seem to only “work” when tourists are there - probably part of the act). Then comes the sell - the staff offer drinks and ofcourse want you to buy something. Abdul wasn’t too pushy so you don’t feel obliged to spend money but we did in any case buy a tiny pyramid piece for a few €s. We hope it’s genuine alabaster and not some random material made in a factory. Time will tell. The second shop (“thurmoses perfume factory”) felt much less authentic (we got a bad vibe) and we didn’t feel comfortable buying anything. We later read reviews on Google from other tourists saying they had also been taken there by their guides, whom they had trusted, only to realise they been scammed and their perfumes had been watered down. It is such a shame that the guides are in on these scams. It ruins the whole experience for us as tourists - we are here as we are interested in learning the history of this beautiful country and we happily tip guides and drivers along the way. It totally eroded the trust we built with our guide.

Tour guide made us feel... - Tour guide made us feel very uncomfortable. He kept getting extremely close to us, even when we tried to back away, and was quite a controlling and creepy person. He made an inappropriate comment to my partner and she didn’t feel safe standing or sitting next to him. We felt very rushed around the monuments, as he gave us very little free time to look around. He gave very little history or information about the sites, we learnt more by reading about them online. Driver was excellent though, would highly recommend him, the tour guide however, no.
