One amazing day in Luxor - We made a full day tour of the temples on the east and west bank of the Nile River in Luxor with EmoTours. Visit the Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, Hatshepsut Temple, Valley of the Kings and Colossi of Memnon. It was a full day, with a very rich history, always well accompanied by our guide Salwa who always knew to give us good indications and explanations about what we were going to visit. She has a lot of knowledge about the themes and temples and every question we had she could explain very well and in detail. I highly recommend the tour with EmoTours!

Awesome private guide - Salwa gave a well paced tour for our private group. She spoke great English so that it was very easy to understand the vast amount of information. She was also very good at taking photos which is important to me. 🤣

Amazing Luxor tour - Selwa was absolutley the perfect guide. She was so knowledgeable and was fun to interact with! My entire family had the best day and much of it was due to her! The day was a perfect balance of activities, perfectly planned. She was also great at finding optimal photo opportunities and was frequently using my phone to capture photos of my whole family which was so appreciated.

Excellent! Recommend this Luxor trip - The private tour in Luxor was excellent! So glad we did this just the 2 of us, where we saw all the major sites in one day. Shereen was our guide for the day who was friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful, also recommended a couple of extra places to visit whilst we were on our stay. The sites are just incredible - thankfully it wasn’t busy in all the places so we had a decent amount of time to learn around the history of each place and take some nice pictures! Lunch was great - felt traditional food which was a nice change from resort food at the hotel. Couldn’t recommend this enough! Our driver was also polite and a gentlemen - Sayed. Car was air conditioned too. Only slight improvement was around the communication before our trip…I sent a message via get my guide who we booked through around pick up as we were slightly outside of the zone, and I had nothing back, I did try to call but no answer. Thankfully the hotel recommended WhatsApp and then communication was excellent & they collected us from the hotel without any problem. Absolutely still 5 star! WhatsApp is the way forward too in Luxor for many communications! You must go!

Perfectly flexible private tour, in-depth experience - We had a wonderful one-day private tour with Salwa. The reason to go on a private tour was to go much deeper in understanding the ancient Egyptian civilization than we could during out travel-group experience in the previous days. So, we wanted to see specific sites, not part of the usual highlights aroud Luxor, that required full flexibility, relative to the original program. She understood exactly what we needed and showed us the hidden gems, from amazing shrines in the Valley of Nobles - with zero tourists around - compared to the hundreds and thousands in the Valley of Kings, but also recommended the best and unique ones there. She gave us in-depth insight into the rituals, beliefs and meaning of all the symbols, depictions - in a perfectly adjusted manner. She talked us through but also gave us as much time as we wanted on each site. We had a nice lunch, the car and the driver were great and we took advantage of the full 8 hours of the program. Salwa is among the best guides we ever encountered - thanks a lot again!

Good tour but, even with good shapes, you're treated like a purse with legs. - My tour was with Walid and a driver. I hired a private tour in Luxor to see all the main monuments, because I had already been warned that it was one of the places in the world where sellers (and not sellers) are more intrusive and aggressive in ways towards the tourist. The latter I could see on my arrival in the city a day before the Tour. I strolled for 2 hours after checking into the hotel before dinner, going along main and tourist avenues, and it was impossible to walk quietly without excessively, politely and very awkwardly trying to stop you a taxi driver, horse cart, a salesman or just a citizen to try to sell you something, take you somewhere or ask for money. In 2 hours I didn't have 5 minutes of quiet free from harassment. I have travelled a lot to Turkey and Morocco where vendors or con artists abound in tourist towns, especially in Fez. And the Luxor heavies leave in mere fans of all the above. It's insufferable. That is why when I arrived at the hotel I thought I had made a good decision to hire this private 8-hour tour with which to see everything important avoiding the heavies when accompanied by a guide. It should be noted that the Tour costs me 106 Euros, in a country where the average monthly salary is over 250 Euros. Obviously Viator as intermediary stays a commission, but from what I have informed the guide stays over 80% of the total amount. I think 80% of 106 Euros for an 8-hour working day for a guide and a driver with the cost of living in Egypt is more than fine. This is important because of what comes next. When I book the Tour, on the web 5 visits to monuments of Luxor are marked, but at no time 2 visits are named that are made to a Herbalist and a craft shop. Logically, visits that the guide makes to acquaintances of his who will pay commission, in which they give you a small explanation to commit to buy something. This is not a Free Tour where you pay the will and I understand that they do these things, it is a pretty expensive Tour and I find it unfortunate that they use you to get more money. Especially when along the way I told Walid about my experience the day before and that I was very uncomfortable that everyone is constantly trying to sell you something and that is why I hired this Tour. At the Herbolario, because it looked good, I bought a bag of incense and paid by card thinking I had paid about 6 euros, and when I arrived at the hotel I see a charge of 60 euros. They gave me the price in Egyptian currency and messed me up, because no one in their right mind would pay 60 euros for a bag of incense. This kind of place was taken by my friend Walid. At the craft store, the salesman wanted me to buy him a piece of beetle about 8 centimeters for 125 euros, I shook his hand and left. In conclusion, when he left me back at my hotel and said goodbye to Walid, he asked me for "driver's tip". I thought I wouldn’t do it, but with good words and a grieving face he put me in that commitment after spending 8 hours with him, where logically I wasn’t able to say that I didn’t even know that he was taking advantage of me for the last time, and that, if anyone has to pay the driver it is him, because I remember again, I paid 106 euros for that Tour, of which he takes 80%. As for the Tour itself, the truth was very good and very interesting, with good explanations from Walid. But you arrive at the hotel and feel cheated, used and conned. Like you're just a purse with legs for them. I hope Viator takes note and penalizes the guide in some way, so that other tourists do not happen the same. With the wonders they have in Luxor, if they focus on caring for the tourist with education, respect and genuine interest in their well-being. I'm sure they'd make a lot more money from tourism, because many Westerners and Asians wouldn't dare come because of bad experiences of acquaintances. But they prefer to try to trim and squeeze those who (less and less) dare to come, even those who go good.
