Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - Located in the Theban Necropolis on Luxor’s west bank, the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari is an ancient funerary temple. Constructed by Pharaoh Hatshepsut of the 18th Dynasty, who reigned from 1479 to 1458 BC, the temple was dedicated to Amun and intended as her mortuary temple. Renowned for its beauty, it is one of Luxor’s most visited sites. The temple features three terraces linked by ramps and enclosed by a high wall. Colossi of Memnon - The Colossi of Memnon are two enormous stone statues representing Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who ruled during the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom. These statues are located in the Theban Necropolis, near Luxor on the west bank of the Nile River. Crafted from quartzite sandstone, they stand approximately 18 meters (60 feet) tall, depicting Amenhotep III seated on a throne with hands on his knees. Believed to have been constructed around 1350 BC, they were originally part of a larger mortuary temple complex dedicated to Amenhotep III. Despite damage from earthquakes and other natural events, they remain impressive examples of ancient Egyptian art and culture.
