Amazing experience in Luxor with Salwa - We had fantastic time with Salwa she waited for us in airport with the driver in comfy car. We received complimentary bottle of waters. The tour was very detailed and she told us so much information we enjoyed every minute! She was very friendly, and full of knowledge. We are family with 2 older teenagers and they also loved it ! We fully recommend her as guide and we wish to book with her again in future

Brilliant guide & stunning locations. - This is exactly how tours should be!
We booked only the day before, unsure of our timings, but absolutely hit the jackpot with our guide, Salwa from Emo Tours.
Salwa was incredibly knowledgeable—explaining the history of each site, how everything fitted into wider Egyptian history, and pointing out architectural details, meanings of the friezes, materials used, and the relationships and stories behind what we were seeing. She gave us plenty of time for photos, never rushed us, and kept sharing insights as we moved through each area.
Karnak Temple was our first stop, arriving nice and early to avoid the crowds and the heat. This meant amazing photo opportunities during the two-plus hours we spent exploring before heading to the much smaller Luxor Temple, with a quick visit to a herbs and spices shop en route.
Karnak is simply breathtaking—the sheer scale, the age, and the condition of the surviving architecture are astonishing. You could wander happily for hours, but the beauty of this tour was truly understanding what we were looking at rather than drifting past things and missing their significance.
Luxor Temple is smaller and features more varied architecture due to later additions and modifications. Still impressive in its own right, and we chose to stay on after the tour to walk part of the Avenue of the Sphinxes, which links both temples and is accessible with the same tickets.
Salwa wasn’t just a guide; with her deep knowledge of the sites, Egyptian history, and excellent English, she was an educator in the very best way.
We booked the driver and guide package and purchased our own entry tickets to keep costs manageable. The driver was pleasant, and his car was immaculate.
Highly recommended & the highlight of our visit to Egypt so far!

Super cultural visit - Amazing visit. Shirine our guide and Mahmoud pick us up at our hotel to go visit the temples. They were super nice welcoming. Shirine is super knowledgeable and listening to her is passionating. She answered all our questions with patience and interest. The visits are made in two times, first the visit and then a time to take pictures. Would recommand to do the Karnak temple first if you do it in the morning to avoid the crowd as we did. The crew was really great it was a super experience.

Great start, strange ending - At the beginning, everything was great. We visited the Karnak and Luxor Temples, and our guide, Salwa (if I recall correctly), shared many interesting facts, helped us take photos, and gave us plenty of free time to explore on our own. She was very friendly, and this part of the trip was wonderful.
However, there were a couple of things we didn’t appreciate. We were taken to an essential oils shop that was not part of our itinerary. The salesperson demonstrated perfumes and emphasized “great prices” but we felt pressured and uncomfortable during this unexpected stop.
A particularly awkward moment occurred at the end of our visit to the Karnak Temple. The guide asked if we understood tipping and mentioned that she expected one. This felt a bit forced, and when we offered some Egyptian money, she seemed dissatisfied, asking if we had more. It was an uncomfortable situation. Later, as we approached our hotel, she asked in a peculiar way how much we had paid for our stay, which further reinforced our impression that she was more focused on money than on providing a pleasant experience. This behavior soured an otherwise enjoyable day.
