Temple of Kom Ombo - Next, drive to Kom Ombo to explore the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, which overlooks the Nile. This temple is distinctive for its dual design, dedicated to two gods: the falcon-headed Haroeris and the crocodile-headed Sobek. The temple honors Sobek, the god of fertility and creator of the world, as well as Haroeris, an ancient form of Horus. Kom Ombo is also notable for its significance in the sugar-cane industry. Aswan High Dam - In the afternoon, visit the High Dam, an engineering marvel completed in 1960 that protects Egypt from the Nile’s annual floods.

Unfinished Obelisk - Then, see the Unfinished Obelisk, which reveals the ancient Egyptians’ techniques for carving obelisks. Believed to be commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut, it offers insight into the grandeur of her reign. Some scholars suggest it might also be associated with Queen Nefertiti.
