- Luxor - In the morning, our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor to begin your exploration of the Western mainland tombs. First, you’ll visit Ramses VI’s tomb. Luxor is home to numerous monuments and cemeteries, with the tomb of King Ramesses V being particularly notable. The tomb’s engravings still retain their vibrant colors, predominantly red and yellow on the walls and blue on the ceiling. Next, you’ll explore the Valley of the Apes, a secluded valley in Mount Qurna, west of Luxor. Similar in topography to the Valley of the Kings, it is surrounded by mountain ranges on the south, east, and west. The Valley of the Apes, also known as the Western Valley, contains only four tombs, the most famous being that of Amenhotep III, a king of the 18th dynasty. The tomb of Khur Khurru-i, the 13th king of the Eighteenth Dynasty, is the only one open to visitors in the entire valley. Afterward, our representative will take you to a local restaurant for lunch.
Third, you’ll visit the Nefertari Cemetery, one of the most beautiful and grand tombs in the Valley of the Queens. Nefertari was known by several titles, including the sweet princess of speech and singing, the great wife of the king, and his beloved. Fourth, you’ll see the tomb of Tutankhamun, one of the most famous pharaohs of the 18th dynasty, known for the discovery of his tomb and its treasures, which were found completely intact. Fifth, you’ll visit the Deir al-Madina cemetery, an integrated community of pharaonic homes and ornate tombs with numerous dazzling details. This city is also known as “The Monastery.” At the end of the trip, you will be returned to your hotel.
