- Abydos - Spend the day exploring two of Egypt’s most complete temples.
The Abydos Temple is dedicated to the ancient Egyptian god of the underworld.
Upon arrival in Abydos, start your tour by discovering the ancient sites. First, visit the Abydos Temple. The Temple of Hathor at Dendara is possibly the best-preserved temple in Egypt, with vibrant colors still visible on its walls. Located about 135 km from Luxor, the ancient Egyptians believed the god of the underworld was buried here. The temple was constructed by King Seti I and completed by King Ramses II, and is also known as the Temple of Seti I.
- Temple of Rameses II - Situated in Abydos city, approximately 420 km south of Cairo in the Sohag Governorate and 135 km from Luxor, the paintings of the gods and pharaohs on the walls of the Osiris Temple at Abydos are among the most beautifully preserved in Egypt.
- Temple of Seti I - Also known as the Great Temple of Abydos, this temple is one of the main historical sites in Abydos. It was built by Pharaoh Seti I. At the rear of the temple is the Osireion.
The temple is also notable for the Abydos graffiti, which includes ancient Phoenician and Aramaic inscriptions found on the temple walls.
- Dandarah - Continue to Dendara to visit the Temple of Hathor, the goddess of love and joy.
The temple is located in Dendara, north of Luxor. At the end of the tour, around 5:00 PM, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel in Luxor.
