From Yerevan to Goris

Khor Virap - The Khor Virap monastery holds great significance for Armenians as the birthplace of Christianity in Armenia. Visitors can explore the history of Gregory The Illuminator and enjoy the majestic view of Mount Ararat. Its proximity to the Turkish border offers the closest view of Mount Ararat in the entire country.

Areni Wine Factory - Established nearly three decades ago by the Simonyan family in the village of Areni, Vayots Dzor Province, “Areni Wine Factory” aims to preserve and enhance the ancestral winemaking traditions of historic Areni. It offers a variety of high-quality wines to the public.

T’rchuneri (Bird) Cave - Situated in the village of Areni, this cave is of immense archaeological significance. Notable discoveries include the world’s oldest winery and the oldest leather shoe.

Shaki Waterfall - Located 6 km from the town of Sisian in Syunik Province, the Shaki Waterfall stands 18 meters tall and is a must-see for nature enthusiasts.

Zorats Karer - Also known as Karahunj, Zorats Karer is a prehistoric megalithic site near Sisian. This complex of basalt stones, ranging from 0.5 to 3 meters in height, is believed to have served as an observatory approximately 7,000 to 7,500 years ago.

Goris - The city of Goris marks the final destination for the first day. It offers numerous charming small hotels for an overnight stay.

From Goris to Yerevan

Khndzoresk Swinging Bridge - Constructed in 2012, this bridge spans 160 meters in length and 63 meters in height, offering a stunning view of the gorge. It connects Old Khndzoresk with New Khndzoresk.

Old Khndzoresk - Old Khndzoresk is a historic village comprised of numerous cave dwellings where people lived until the 1950s. Access to the caves is via the swinging bridge.

Wings of Tatev | Tatever - The Wings of Tatev is a 5.7 km cableway linking Halidzor and the Tatev monastery in Armenia. It holds the record as the world’s longest reversible aerial tramway, inaugurated in 2010.

Tatev Monastery - The Tatev Monastery, dating back to the 9th century, is located on a vast basalt plateau near the village of Tatev in Syunik Province. The complex also features an ancient oil mill, where Armenians began producing oil in the 13th century.
