Arrival in Lusaka and Transfer to Wild Dog Lodge

Lusaka - Upon landing at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, guests will be greeted and transported to Wild Dog Lodge, a serene and comfortable retreat conveniently situated near the airport. This initial day is dedicated to rest and recuperation after the journey, with no planned activities. Guests are welcome to relax at the lodge, enjoy the peaceful environment, or unwind at their leisure. In the evening, dinner will be served at the lodge’s restaurant, available at guests’ own expense, offering a selection of freshly prepared dishes to choose from before settling in for the night and preparing for the upcoming adventure.

Drive to Southern Part of Kafue National Park

Kafue National Park - Following an early breakfast, the journey from Lusaka to the southern region of Kafue National Park begins, one of Zambia’s largest and most diverse wildlife areas. Upon arrival, camp is set up at Kasabushi Campsite, ideally located near the Kafue River and surrounded by untouched wilderness. The day’s activities include guided morning and afternoon game drives, providing excellent opportunities to observe a wide variety of wildlife and birdlife in their natural environment. Between drives, guests can relax at camp and enjoy the tranquil riverside setting. All meals are freshly prepared and included, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the safari experience.

Kafue National Park - After breakfast, the drive to the southern part of Kafue National Park continues, heading toward the picturesque Lake Itezhi-Tezhi. Upon arrival, camp is set up at New Kalala, beautifully situated along the lakeshore. The area is abundant in wildlife and birdlife, with opportunities to see elephants, hippos, crocodiles, antelope, and a variety of water birds.

Guests will enjoy both morning and afternoon game drives, exploring open plains, riverbanks, and woodland habitats. These drives offer excellent opportunities for close wildlife encounters, relaxed photography, and stunning views over the lake. Meals and overnight at camp. All meals are included.

Kafue National Park - The day begins with an early morning game drive, setting out as the bush comes alive. This is one of the best times to observe wildlife at close range, with chances of seeing lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants, and plains game such as zebra, impala, and buffalo. The cool morning hours also offer excellent birdlife sightings and beautiful golden light for photography.

After returning for breakfast and some time to relax, guests will head out again in the afternoon for another exciting game drive. As temperatures cool, animals become more active, often gathering near water sources. Enjoy breathtaking scenery, dramatic sunset views, and unforgettable wildlife encounters before returning to camp in the evening.

Drive to Lusaka

Lusaka - After breakfast, the journey from Kafue back to Lusaka begins, with guests enjoying the changing landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, camp is set up at Lukasa Guest House, a comfortable and quiet place to relax after the journey. Later, a short drive into town is taken to stock up on groceries and any last-minute essentials. This day is kept free of activities, providing time to rest, freshen up, and reflect on the safari experience. Dinner and overnight at the guest house. All meals are included.

Transfer to Lower Zambezi National Park & Sunset Game Drive

Lower Zambezi National Park - After breakfast, the journey to Lower Zambezi National Park begins, driving through scenic countryside toward the mighty Zambezi River. Upon arrival, guests will settle into their lodge at Kasaka, beautifully located along the riverbank. After some time to relax, guests will head out for their first game activity—a sunset game drive. This evening drive offers excellent chances to see elephants, buffalo, antelope, and predators as they become active in the cooler hours, with the added magic of golden light reflecting off the Zambezi. From this day onward, guests will enjoy two game drives daily—morning and afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Kasaka. All meals are included.

In the afternoon, after lunch and some relaxation at the lodge, guests head out again for another game drive or walking safari. As the day cools, wildlife becomes more active, often gathering along the Zambezi River, making for rewarding sightings and beautiful sunset views before returning to camp.

Return to Lusaka & Departure

Lusaka - After breakfast, luggage is loaded and the journey from Lower Zambezi National Park back to Lusaka begins. Guests can enjoy the final views of the Zambezi landscape as the trip proceeds directly to the airport. Upon arrival, assistance is provided with drop-off for onward flights, marking the conclusion of an unforgettable safari journey.
