• Whisky Village - This charming village, situated along the Mekong River, is known as Ban Xang Hai or Whisky Village. It is renowned for its artisanal products, including whisky distillation, handwoven fabrics, and jewelry.
• Pak Ou Caves - Located approximately 25km from Luang Prabang, where the Nam Ou River meets the Mekong, these two caves offer a scenic journey by slow-moving longboat. As you travel upriver, you can observe locals fishing and hear the joyful laughter of children playing in the water. The caves are highly revered throughout Laos and are a popular destination for both tourists and pilgrims. Inside, there are around 4,000 statues and statuettes, mostly of Buddha, many adorned with delicate gilding. The first cave is accessible via a steep staircase from the riverbank, while the second cave is deeper within the mountain, so bringing a flashlight is recommended.
• Kuang Si Falls - Known also as Kuang Xi or Tat Kuang Si Waterfalls, this three-tiered waterfall is located about 29 kilometers (18 miles) south of Luang Prabang.

Upon arrival, visitors can relax and take in the breathtaking natural beauty. The water cascades down into several cool, clear pools, perfect for a refreshing swim. Adventurous visitors can hike to the top of the falls via a steep path, where stunning views await. Kuang Si Waterfalls is also home to a rescue center dedicated to protecting the endangered sun bears.

• Hmong Heritage Culture Center - On the return journey from the waterfall, a visit to a Hmong village is included. Visitors can stroll through the village and stop at a small museum established by the villagers. Here, they can learn about the traditional highland life from villagers dressed in traditional attire.

Embark on a day-long excursion to the caves of Pak Ou and waterfalls of Kuang Si. We set off from the Luang Prabang boat pier in the morning. As you glide down the Mekong River, the breathtaking landscape of Luang Prabang will leave you awestruck. We’ll take a detour to the village ‘Ban Xang Hai’, where you’ll get a chance to sample local rice alcohol and rice wine. Following this, delve into the enigmatic cave with a local guide.

Feast on a buffet lunch at a restaurant that offers a stunning view of the Mekong river. Post lunch, we redirect our journey towards the waterfalls, where you can indulge in a refreshing swim in the chilly water. By 5pm, we’ll begin our journey back to the city, making a pitstop at a Hmong village on the way. Experience the Hmong culture firsthand as you interact with the locals dressed in traditional attire and visit their quaint Hmong museum. We’ll arrive at either the city center or your hotel by 6pm.

Alternatively, you can opt for a modified itinerary where the visit to the waterfall is scheduled for the AM and the cave exploration and sunset boat ride are moved to the PM. This variation offers the same activities but in a different sequence.
