Two day trek with home stay in park Nam Ha - We did the two day trek with home stay in park Nam Ha. It was a great experience. The tour is very well organised. There are many positive points: 1- The food our guides prepared during both picnics in the forest and the food at the homestay was the best food we ate in all our trip in Laos. 2- The areas visited are varied and nice: forest/jungle, river, rice fields, village. 3- The homestay was interesting. Comfort doesn't exist but people have basic needs covered and look content. The children were very happy and lively. Everyone was very kind 4- Our guide Noy and the assistant guide (Chai, apologies for writing the name wrong) were the best. The Hiker gave us a good impression in terms of organisation and treating the communities fairly. We recommend this tour with The Hiker to others. It was one of our highlights of our trip to Laos.

A great experience in the north Laos comunities - We went for 2 days hike and homestay in an Ahka village. It was a very good experience, not difficult hike for us, and the chance to live with this comunity for 1 day was great. The hiker is a very profesional agency and our guide, Thid, was really nice, active and decisive person. Also, he showed how to cook in the jungle and teached us about medicinal plants and many others you can eat. We absolutely recommend this agency, and hope to use them again. Ana&Juan (Spain)

Fantastic Guide - Xia was a fantastic guide, really knowledgeable about different plants, trees, insects and thier uses. Never knew bamboo was so versatile! He always made sure I was doing alright especially on the steeper parts of the trek. He's also a really good cook so the food was delicious. I was a bit slow trekking but I never felt rushed. Xia also explained how the trekking works so that the villages benefit from the tourists which was lovely to hear. Overall was a wonderful experience and would definatley recommend.

Amazing 2 day hike... - Amazing 2 day hike through Nam Ha with my guide Peng - he was excellent the whole trip, explained native plants and herbs through the walk, and even gave a little tour of the local markets before we started.

PERFECT. Ask for Peng the best - We are from spanish Travel agency and It's the third time we collaborate with the hiker. The experience was really cool, they took us during 5hours throught the mountains (forest) explaining everything. They cooked the food in Lao style right there with fire. We went to the village, shared time with locals, took a bath in the river (even brown water was so clean). I highly recommend Peng, who was our guide. His English is Perfect, he worries to give you a good experience. Also he was really helpful providing us transports we needed from border and to next destination. I forgot my sunglasses and he worried to sent them to me. the person u definitely want clase for this type of experience

A special beautiful 1 day trip through the wet jungle of Luang Namtha - Although our plans were shortened considerably by storms, we still made the most of our trip to Luang Namtha. Instead of spending several days in nature, we could only explore the jungle for one day. Luckily it turned out to be a very special trip. We arrived in Luang Namtha around 15:00, and the guides were almost immediately ready to leave, dis we drove straight towards the jungle. We kept walking until dusk, to get the most out of this one day. The practical side was also well arranged. Because the program was shortened, we got about half the amount back. A very honest solution, which we really appreciated. All in all it was a fantastic experience, it was a day in the jungle not to be forgotten.

Amazing jungle trek experience and remote overnight homestay - We had the best time with Thid and his team of guides and fellow hikers. The jungle is a really special place, and Thid showed us many edible medicinal plants and explained their use. His knowledge was inspiring. It fully became clear to us how versatile bamboo is after going on this hike and visiting the homestay. Our lunch on top of the mountain was delicious, fire roasted fish and lots of vegetables, since our group members were mainly vegetarians. Reaching the homestay village was a satisfying end to the day, we took part in dancing, crossbow firing, river swimming and rice pounding. We also had time to wander around the village ourselves and soak up the atmosphere. Sadly I had to leave on the second day due to a bad stomach, so a motorbike was organised to take me back to town which I really appreciated. I would highly recommend the hiker as an agency. If you’re struggling to make your mind up - just choose the Hiker. Guides were very Knowledgable and professional, and fantastic cooks too!

A good choice for a two-day trek - Overall, the tour was very good. The guide (Joy, if that’s how you spell it) was great. The trekking wasn’t difficult and I wouldn’t have minded if it was a little bit longer. The home stay was comfortable enough though noisy from 6:30am onwards. I docked a star as communication from the agency could be improved - one of my queries went unanswered.
